A really well considered and helpful review! I received mine, very similar (minus T-top, starboard power-pole,), in Feb. but due to weather and surgery have not had it in the water since dealer demo. Have been out of boating 30 years. Lot’s of questions in my mind & not able to get in and out of boat readily so this video has been great and clarified most of my concerns. All relevant info, no fluff. Much appreciated.
Excellent overview. You hit several things that nobody mentions outright. Especially like the info at 16:00. That’s key for us. Would love to see any of your installs explained ( maybe you do that; I haven’t checked tour inventory yet.) Interested modifying whenever we purchase but a little wary of messing up such a big investment. I fearlessly drive through-hull holes in my aluminum Jon boat. Not super knowledgeable about how to deal with this kind of stuff. Anyway, thanks again. Good review. Subscribed.
Thanks for the great comment. I installed all of the optional items on my Robalo ( Depth Finder, power poles, trolling motor, on board battery charger and light bar). Is their a specific item you would like me to create a video for?
Hey man, love you videos! I’ve been binge watching since i subscribed. I am in the market for a boat also and am torn between a Explorer R202 or the 206 Cayman. Did you consider a deeper V option prior to settling on the Cayman? (If you mentioned that in a video already sorry I missed it).
I am looking at the 226 with the 250hp Vmax. I really love the fit and finish on these Robolos. Great video. Do the Robolos all come with the "click closing" latches? No turning the handles
Bought new in 2016... best hybrid boat on the market. I sold it right before the pandemic hit and regret it everyday. Gunnels are fantastic... 9" beam... you can hang off either side and boat doesn't' move. Feels bigger than 24' boat because it's so beamy. had boat in 3-4's and trim down and boat is heavy enough to cut right through them.. always felt safe! It has only gotten better with time and improvements in newer models - windshield, boarding ladder, etc. ..Stainless steel HW is first class and diamond finish is better than most... can't say enough good things.
Loved the review! Expecting delivery of my 246 Cayman in July! We ordered the same colors as yours. I did not see a VHF radio. Did you decide not to install a fixed VHF radio? I will have one for my Cayman and I'm curios as to where folks are mounting theirs.
I have not notice any line of sight issues but the steering wheel is mounted lower then other hybrid model (lower console) and its located on the starboard side of the boat. This took a little bit to get use too.
@@mikeisabella4539 I am following now lol. I would say that they do block some of your view but not to the point where I feel unsafe or notice it to be a problem.
I just bought a used 2018 and I'm still setting it up for fishing. What are you doing for tackle storage? Boat outfitters makes some nice starboard units that fit under the seat but I'm not sure I want to take away that space for the cooler. I'm thinking the other option would be a tackle bag.
I carry a ton of tackle but I do not have a Designated tackle storage on the boat. I use the plastic tray and a gym bag. All the tackle boxes were either too small or way too expensive and I found out a gym bag works perfectly and half the cost. I switched out the tray as needed between Inshore fishing and offshore fishing
