Robalo 246 Cayman Vs. Sea Pro 248 

He points out the difference between the live wells but he doesn't tell you one livewell's pressurized and one isn't like doesn't give you the best review of the livewells at least

@@williamemmelliv926 He doesn't tell you a lot of things. Like the pressurized live wells, every surface is a finished surface, lifetime warranty on all hardware and a 5 year warranty on the hull. I'm sure there is more but that's a good portion of it. I wouldn't buy a boat from this dealer because I wouldn't trust him.

@@williamemmelliv926 He also doesn't mention that in the Sea Pro when you are running all of the water goes to a central exit that creates a suction that actually vacuums the water out.

I agree they are both fine boats. I would like to see Robalo do a pressurized live bait well though.

He left out that Robalo still uses wood in the transom

@Fresh Mann - I actually went on a sea trial on a new sea pro 24' with Yamaha 300, smoothest riding bay boat I have driven. Plus with sea pro, cuts through the chop very well, pressurized livewells, all sea pro boats with larger engines come with power assist hydraulic steering (maneuvers like a sports car), the 2021 24' bay now has a step down into console to gain more head room (space for porta-potty), plus most sea pro boats come on Ameratrail trailers (quality built). The only con for me on the sea pro is accessing the bilge area for servicing pumps, power assist steering pump and changing fuel/water separator filter. They have hatches in stern and in storage compartments to access pumps but defiantly not easy compared to some other boats. I suggest any boat you look at, tell the saleman you want to see access to all pumps and filters so you can see how easy or difficult access will be. My sportsman masters 247 bay boat is a quality built boat. Flip up the bench seat and have access to every pump and filter on the boat. My next boat will be another 24' sportsman and I will add power assist steering or a 24' sea pro if I can convince myself to deal with access to pumps. This comes from me having a bass boat for years, having to stick arms down in small hatches to change pumps pretty much by feel. Couple things that turn me away from the Robola is weight (fuel economy), 246 cayman is 3800 lbs, sea pro 24' 3000 lbs, sportsman 24' 2750 lbs. I don't care for the front open console, nor do I care about the casting deck, just me but I need a fishing boat with large casting deck. Robolo tested top speed with evinrude 300 was 46.5 mph, Mine with yamaha 300, hydraulic jackplate, 70 gal fuel, fishing gear, 2 men will run 60. Good luck with your search!

@Fresh Mann - Really the only negative I have with Sportsman is the pre-installed Garmin electronics. The Garmin works great but I had Simrad evo unit on previous boat and like it much better. I got the 2019 sportsman in Fall 2018, not one pieces of stainless hardware or fasteners have shown rust or corrosion, always used in saltwater! Not many manufactures can claim that. I looked at both of these boats and bought the Sea Pro 248. I didn't like how Robalo doesn't allow space for a bow casting chair with their deck design. I also don't like the heavy branding/logos all through the design. The transom design wasn't as good for a swim platform. Finally the Robalo just looked too chunky and kind of cumbersome for skinny water.

@@benmcneil2692 And yet the Robalo drafts 12" and the Sea Pro 15". The Robalo is more capable due to that "chunky" design off shore on good days. Most salt water guys don't use a bow seat unless you're a tournament tarpon fisherman. And I'm guessing Robalo Cayman owners are proud of those "heavy branding". Again, they're both great options but the Robalo is just more boat for the same money.
