I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE NAME OF THIS SONG FOR EXACTLY 31 YEARS BECAUSE IT WAS EXACTLY IN SEPTEMBER 1992 AT THE FREE JAZZ FESTIVAL IN BRAZIL THAT ROBBEN FORD PLAYED THE SONG "BAD TRICK BLUES" AND ONLY THROUGH THIS VIDEO WAS I ABLE TO KNOW THE NAME AND LISTEN TO THIS SONG AGAIN....
I love Robben Ford, but miss this side of his playing in the late-80s thru about, mid-90s. His playing then had so much fire and melodic/harmonic twists and turns, it was always exciting and invigorating. For quite some time now, his playing style has become very mellow and laid back, and doesn't engage your ear like it used to.
He's not working on his chops the way he used to. He's now more focused on composing. At least that's what he said recently. I miss this era of his, too.
