Humans are no exception. It is the same in the animal kingdom as a whole. Whenever there are limited resources, things get unpleasant

Humans are very different though…they can imagine scarcity/threat when it doesn’t exist and act on that false belief. That’s actually the root of many issues. Their evolved brain, “meaning making machine” causes so many distortions and the person often thinks they are way more logical than they are…ability to create a story, but too often lacking objective reality testing. It is this sense of self created, imagined threat, that is at the heart of most fractures, war, etc. Other animals do not do this. As my child said (when they were 8), “humans are the smartest and dumbest animals on the planet”.

Wow, I can not believe how good this content was. It explained the Experiment, because I heard about it on another psychology video. But, it wasn't explained. Here, it was EXCELLENTLY.

I mean, you could say he rewrote the experiment to fit his hypothesis, or you could say he followed the scientific method by isolating and changing one variable to see if it would affect the results, which it did.

I believe in near future we’ll have personal robots that would need to review media for content prior to his or her owner consuming (listening or watching) it. I would love to create this kind of software that would be conscious of the type of human interaction and exposure that a person prefers to have!

I knew professor Musafer Sherif personally in the later years of his life. He explained the concept of Superordinate Goals and conflict resolution to me, and I always thought that it would have application for someday averting some kind of huge and cataclysmic worldwide conflict, such as WW3. Well, here we are today moving in that direction. Could his gift portrayed in this video be applied to save us from this train wreck we are heading towards???
@tomasjancovic2378
@tomasjancovic2378 8 месяцев назад
I don't believe so. While superordinate goals are a powerful tool for conflict resolution, they may not work in all situations. Success depends on the willingness of conflicting parties to prioritize the shared goal over their differences. Additionally, the definition of what constitutes a superordinate goal may vary among individuals and groups.
@IAm1InTheIAm
@IAm1InTheIAm 8 месяцев назад
@tomasjancovic2378 agree, and so herein lies the challenge: to craft a mutual goal that is so valuable to both groups that they realize it IS worth prioritizing, and to set aside their perceived differences to achieve together. Example: mutually assured nuclear annihilation, etc...? Yes, the mutual Goal would have to be more valuable than maintaining the division. I still think the concept is scalable, but it would really take strong and convincing leadership to bring them together. And a paradigm shift from a "zero-sum game" mentality, to a "Win-Win" strategy. It is possible.
@Robothuck
@Robothuck 3 месяца назад
@@IAm1InTheIAm This is literally the plot of the comic book 'Watchmen'. The 'villain' in that has scientists and artists work together to create a terrifying looking monster and releases one in all of the world's most major cities. This causes the world's governments to stop fighting amongst each other and instead co-operate in order to deal with this new threat, and therefore averts the threat of a nuclear exchange during the cold war. The 'heroes' of the story end up realising in the end that the villain had essentially saved the many at the expense of a few, and even end up killing one of their own number in order to stop him from revealing to the world what had really occurred, in order to preserve the illusion of there being a more important Superordinate goal for the worlds powerful nations to bond over.
@IAm1InTheIAm
@IAm1InTheIAm 3 месяца назад
@Robothuck wow, cool, somebody came up with this scenario- with a twist- but the result was achieved: to get people refocused on a purpose conducive to everyone's survival. My imagined scenario is the world being invaded by aliens intent on our anyhelation(sp) and we all have to come together to repress them for our survival. Yeah, like that's gonna happen, right?

@NK-eb1qh 3 года назад
@@safakdemir4584 I honestly think it is... As the experiment shows, when working together to accomplish one goal people are powerful, but what if there are a handful of people who want the power to themselves so need to keep the rest in check? What if we are being distracted whilst losing something we don't even know were losing? our freedoms. For example, do you not think the majority are being used to make the rich more money, whilst being told/forced to believe by everything around us that this is the best we can do with our lives? why are drugs so common? to dumb us down? why is there only trash on TV and youtube videos with slime that have 10 million views? why are school systems so shit and not prepare us for real life? so many questions, just think about it. We are too advanced to be having these issues, were obviously being controlled in some way.

My takeaway from this video: Its the shortage of good common problems that creates internal conflicts Hahahaahah I am just kidding :-) But even what if we are under alien threat We all humans unites lol :-) Anyway My real take away in the video is : Learn the cause To control/limit the after effects And Here I think Its mandatory To Learn about HYPOTHESIS And PSYCHOLOGY Ok then Lets Unite And enjoy 2021 HAPPY NEWYEAR
