@@nycava0520 The second part starts immediately after Marie interrupts. You just know there is going to be trouble when Peter pulls his little stunt of not picking up the pastor. I was actually expecting him to be the one who spoke out. He’s another one who is a jerk.
Ray and Robert were so worried about Peter wrecking the wedding what with forgetting to pick up the reverend and him acting like the wedding was going to go up in smoke, they forgot about the possibility of Marie doing something during the wedding.
@@gwendolynsmith9532 that’s the joke, also trying to make light of a past episode where Robert accuses Ray of being responsible for the family dysfunction for ‘his unwillingness to share not even the tiniest portion of the spotlight that shines without end on him’.
I'm not gonna lie, out of all of the Marie narcissistic moments, this is the worst moment from her. What a terrible thing to do humiliating your son at the wedding of all places.
"If there is anyone here who knows any reason why these two people should not be joined in Holy Matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace." *Ray and Robert slowly turn to Peter* 😂😂😂😂😂
Peter was a total jerk to and about Robert, but Robert was the one who kind of understood Peter’s bizarre relationship with his parents. Frank makes mean-spirited comments about Robert living at home when he and Marie were talking to the McDougals about Peter being upset that his parents “gave his room to Jesus.” It wasn’t that many episodes previously that Frank and Marie sent Raymond to bring Robert back from the Sipes (?), because neither one of them could stand to be alone with the other. They seem to have conveniently forgotten that little detail. Robert and Peter were in the kitchen listening to the nasty comments Frank was making about the birds that never leave the nest. Peter whined that no one understood him, but Robert made him realize that HE understood about parents who want you there, living with them … until they don’t.
No, this was totally Marie. I hadn’t really realized it until the more recent years, because I’m usually doing other things while I “watch TV.” That evening, I was listening to one of the Robert-breaks-up-with-Amy episodes. I always feel bad for Robert, because he has such low self esteem and takes everything onto himself. Ray uses him as a place to try out new insults. Anyway, Robert couldn’t even work through the grief connected to his own breakup, because Marie made it all about her. As she talked, I realized that Marie saw Robert’s marriage as something that belonged to her. He had ruined HER chance for grandkids (forgetting she already has three). She went on and on about it and basically made him feel like a failure as a human being.
That was very inconsiderate of Marie to purposely interrupt the wedding ceremony she should’ve waited until afterwards because it’s not nice to do something stupid like that. How would she feel if someone interrupted her funeral service?
Inconsiderate IRL, but fodder for a comedy series. Who wouldn’t expect something like this from Marie Barone? Or anticipate Peter MCDougal forget pick up the officiant?
Ray at least gave a great toast for the wedding: “Editing.” I don’t really like Ray. He is a spoiled, selfish brat, and Marie is the one who spoiled him, and then she gave him little “spoiling updates” for the rest of the show. If I had been Debra, I don’t think I could have stuck it out with Ray.
Most uncomfortable and unpleasant scene I’ve seen from this show . Marie’s character was way over the top . It ruined the scene and didn’t make sense .
Uh-oh! How you gonna leave us hanging like that?!? And as an aside, I saw a clip of Patricia Heaton here on Inside Edition yesterday... boy, she is unrecognizable!!
