Robert Burns: To A Louse 

I realize this was 12 years ago, but I just had to share that we watched this as part of our 2023 Burns Night Celebration here in rural Texas tonight. It was our favorite performance of the night. 👏 Fantastic!

How could three people possible "dislike" this wonderful recitation of this masterpiece? What's not to like? I am Dawn Steele's biggest fan, but I have to say, "Watch your back Dawn, you have some serious competition from this bonnie lass!"

I competed in one of these 'burns recital' competitions in primary school. I rememberer it dearly and thoroughly enjoyed it. That being said, I don't think poetry should be competitive. It's entirely against the nature of poetry. It conveys the wrong message to youngsters, and risks leaving the majority of them with a negative opinion. Surely there are better ways to expose our youth to Burns' work. All that aside, this was a great recital, Well done to the young lass.
