Children have several expectations: some concrete, others abstract. All children want to play the music that is part of their culture and they want to be recognized for their work. Often times, children love music so much that they will always come to class on-time and ready to rehearse because they practice regularly and take their learning seriously. Elementary and middle school is an amazing time to give kids the opportunity to learn in enactive ways such as class discussion, composing, and describing how music makes them feel.
