Wow! One of the best speeches I have ever heard. I am not Catholic, for what that is worth. A great speech for all Christians to hear, and for those who often criticize Christians to hear the other side.
The church has failed to convince non-catholics and many of its own members that current dogma is the right way to live. Instead of reflecting on why their message has failed to find purchase, they would use state power and their own charitable (commercial) activities to force the compliance of those who disagree. The hostility they face is earned.
