My son just told me to read a book called the The Death of Expertise. The business of football wants an immediate product. Many fans do as well. No one cares about the idea of building a team or building a QB. JF got better every year and didn’t make it past his rookie contract. If you get drafted you got about 2.5 seasons and it doesn’t matter how good the prices around you are.

I look at it from a dad perspective...RG3 is absolutely correct. There is an unspoken undercurrent to this situation: The Bears are diametrically opposed to players like Caleb Williams. The fan base as well. Players are low end employees in the Bear Org. They hire people you never heard of, or never did this job before, because they are happy to have a job in the NFL. They don't hire players you heard of before they were on the Bears, if you do they got them on a deal, or end of their career. Ex Bears go on to be stars....This truth cannot be changed by a Poles or anyone else. Caleb Williams is too aware for the Bear Org., people who believe in the Bear Org. Caleb has already said he would be excited to play for the bears if they draft him. He does not make $10 million a yr. He has made a total of $10 million in 3 yrs. I don’t think Caleb is going to pull this. However, he does have the upper hand seeing as Poles traded away JF. And if Caleb is Poles’ guy and he pulls this nonsense then it’s a wrap on Poles as the GM. Poles is smart enough to get his ducks in a row before making a decision like this. And he could still throw a curveball and draft a different QB. With that said, I hope Justin gets his career on track and balls out. He was dealt a terrible hand and really had no chance.
