Labeled a "pretty boy" in the 1980's, Robert was a deep and diverse musical talent. He covered many types and styles of music in addition to his mega-hits and his voice and camera presence were undeniable.
He's a dark horse candidate for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame consideration. Criminally underrated, he was about as smooth as they come. Still sounds modern even today.
The Gentleman Rocker. Robert Palmer was an incredible live singer. His songs live sounded very close to the studio recordings. Many artists cannot do that very well. Palmer could. Voted "Best Dressed" man in music during his era.
@@kimberleyphillips6671 Absolutely. Palmer loved his tailored suits and was one of the few musicians that wore a custom made suit on stage while performing.
"a pretty face dont make no pretty heart. I learned that, buddy from the start" such a true line i learned the hardway back in highschool...she can be beautiful but deadly inside
Don Kirshner's Rock Concert! I remember my babysitters letting me stay up late & watch that with them, when my parents went out on Saturday nights! Good times!
He was so freaking cool.He wore suits and ties in his videos which always impressed me.Such strong vocals. He was awesome!I sure do miss him and The Power Station.😔💔
@@englishlady8863 So what do you call Robert Palmer, if not underrated? Not promoted well, understated? He never really received the acclaim he deserved. Poor timing perhaps, as stylings changed in musical preferences.
Miss that guy. Apart from the awesome voice, he played a lot of instruments particularly on earlier albums, and wrote many, many wonderful songs. (Not this one though.) Gone way too early.
