Absolutely. They are so much alike in so many ways. Similar career paths (from popular Teenie movies, rom coms and Blockbusters to indie and arthouse or just weird productions/challenging roles), similar acting styles (both are not method actors, both are extremely dedicated to their roles), both extremely versatile (and intense) actors, both are extremely talented and interested in other arts than acting (Heath was into photography and film making, Rob is an excellent singer/musician), both have very supportive and loving families (and in Rob's case also longtime friends) and their personalities are so much alike too. Like you said: both are so insecure, always doubting themselves, both are introverts (and quite shy at times), both are very humble, extremely friendly and nice, very charming (without trying to be), dedicated to their roles and acting as an art. They are very private people (with a deep aversion to the press - that made their lives hell at times), Rob hates too much attention and has quite an aversion to fame in general - and so did Heath. They never thought about themselves as being someone "special" (although they have both that special "something", charisma). Both don't really fit into the usual Hollywood crowd. And last but not least: both remained very "normal", authentic, genuine, down-to-earth people (not behaving like celebs in general), they didn't change, they remained the exact same persons they were before they became famous and were so insanely successful. I will never forget all these normal people from Heath's NYC neighbourhood who had so many (and only nice) stories to tell about him (nobody said a bad word about him) and who were genuinely shocked and sad when he died. Everyone seemed to like him (Heath as a person, not as a celeb) - very much so. (When I first came to NYC I went to his apartment a few months after his death, just to light a candle and put some flowers there. When I arrived there.... There were a lot of new candles and fresh flowers there, people still went to his apartment months after his death in order to remember him and to express their condolences.) Rob's the same. He's has no airs and graces, no ego. Although Rob has social anxiety (and body dysorphia) he lives quite a wholesome (and healthy) life, has a great family and friends, he isn't a troublemaker or into drugs. He learned to deal with his anxiety, not letting it take control. Unfortunately poor Heath had to battle more severe mental health problems - depression and insomnia. Until this day I still don't understand how the only thing his doctors did, the only help they gave him, was prescribing him pills, not even checking what other stuff he got prescribed from other doctors. The most tragic thing is that his death really was preventable. That this amazing actor and likeable person could still be alive. Honestly, a few times I thought about how effing incredible it would be if Rob and Heath - these insanely gifted and outstanding actors - could both be in one movie together. Can you imagine Rob as Batman and Heath as Joker in a movie together? World domination, a perfect match - just epic...

His dad actually is the one who recommended that Rob go to the drama club, partially as a way to meet girls. Rob has since then said that his dad is also artistic, so I think his dad may have wanted him to be an actor. But it was also a good way to meet girls as a 14 year old

@@Kuhoochandra That was a fake story they made up for promo. He auditioned for Twilight because he owed $25,000 in taxes on his Harry Potter salary and he would have taken any role. He had turned down the script when they sent it to him six months before he auditioned. He only changed his mind because he was in debt was too embarrassed to say that back then. He told the truth in 2018 during the Twilight 10 year anniversary.

@@marthedreamer7629 He did an interview in 2017 and just mentioned this in passing, it wasn't an interview about Twilight specifically. I saw it back then but didn't bookmark it.

He's talked about it before. He said that he was ready to take on any job, because there was no money. After Potter, he spent the money he earned with friends and Rob always dreamed of being a musician. He told me back in 2009 that if he hadn't walked into the Twilight, he would have retired from acting. You forget that Pattinson won an award at the Strasbourg Festival before Twilight for his performance in the title role of "How to Be"

Yea a lot of actors start off not so well off and need to take roles for the sake of money at first. Jobs can be very inconsistent.

I saw somewhere once that he loved the movie Thirteen so when he found out Niki and the director from that movie were involved he was more interested. Guess that was a lie too lol

Yeah me too. I casually rewatched the movies as I often do but this time I really got into it so I read the new twilight book (it was the best experience of my whole life haha) and then I read the 4 original books as well for the first time. I got so obsessed it’s embarassing.

@@vperkv6554 No, he was perfect as Edward. The material was bad, but he delivered it in the best way possible. If he hadn't absolutely nailed Edward, there would have been no Twilight franchise. He carried that movie and franchise on his back and the fans totally bought his performance as a character they knew from the books, inside out. It was a very difficult role to pull off and make believable, it took acting. He deserves credit for that. His co-star's acting was cringey AF, but his wasn't.

@@aramkk5 Was out at a bar years ago for my brother's bday. He was there with some friends. Said hello and chatted for a few minutes. Super laid back and was just out with some buddies so I didn't bother him beyond that lol

The Batman is the first movie I've *ever* been to watch in a theater more than once, and a large part of that was Pattinson's acting. There was so much talent in his face, the micro-expressions in his eyes and jaw, and his body language. In that interview in this video where he says he wants his movie to be just one person's absolute favorite... I think The Batman came very close for me.

Honestly in terms of my real older sister she's never dated someone who seemed so nice and also she never went to college but I also know exactly what you mean. Especially being from London and growing up in the artistic/creative scenes like I know I have one degree of separation away from him, he just seems like people I've known but accidentally got big.

Yes, he doesn't like to use his own real voice and accent for his characters, even if some of his characters are British (like him) he still modifies his voice and dialect.
