LYRICS
My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight
My love is the miles and the waiting
The eyes that just stare, and the glance at the clock
And the secret that burns, and the pain that won't stop
And its fuel is the years
Leading me on - leading me down the road
Driving beyond
Driving me down the road
My love is exceeding the limit
Red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing, my thoughts do collide
Should I rest for a while at the side
Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror, still expecting they'll come
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back
No
There is no turning back
On the run
My love is in league with the freeway
Oh the freeway, and
The coming of night-time
My love
My love is in league with the freeway

@themoderatescorner7643
@themoderatescorner7643 4 месяца назад
@@msMissy699 I have to agree, but its funny because I am sure the younger generation they got their own thing going on. I feel the same way, but I feel also its really pointless to even try to teach them about 20th century pop music. You have to remember this music is 40 years old. Now when we were younger in 1984, think about it, would we even care about stuff that was made in 1944, and the answer is really no. The older generation felt the same way we do today, and my grandparents said the same thing about our generation as we were up and coming, this generation does not know music and they don't make music like that anymore. So its the classical scenario of us going from being the younger generation to the older generation and now our grandparent's age. Younger generation does not understand older generation, older generation saids the same thing about younger generation. Always been like that since the dawn of man. Just human nature and perception I guess.

My love is in league with the freeway Its passion will rise as the cities fly by And the tail lights dissolve in the coming of night And the questions and thousands take flight My love is miles in awaiting The eyes that just stare and the glance at the clock In the secret that burns and the pain that won't stop And it's fueled with the years Leading me on (leading me on) Leading me down the road Driving me on (driving me on) Driving me down the road My love is exceeding the limit Red eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles Distance and longing, my thoughts do collide Should I rest for a while at the side? Your love is cradled in knowing Eyes in the mirror still expecting their prey Sensing too well when the journey is done There is no turning back, no There is no turning back on the run My love is in the league With the freeway Oh, with the freeway And the coming of the night time My love My love is in the league with the freeway

For me, the song of my year
@MrArcadia2009
@MrArcadia2009 13 часов назад
I have a story to share. Earlier this year, (Feb 2024) I had a bad reaction to Pneumonia. Unfortunately, that happens somewhat often in my case. I was in the hospital during late evening. Quite loud, a new shift of nurses was coming in during the evening. Thankfully that same day, my mom had gotten my Phone from home. I was listening to a lot of music that evening, and had a hell of a time. Even listened to it rather loudly, as the hospital was almost louder. This song was included in that long list of music that I listened to. The next night, I was sitting on the edge of the bed. (The bed was really hot, and an alarm would have sounded if I stood up.) From what I could see of the hallway, a workstation was visible. A doctor getting off that station, we caught a glance of each other. When he came closer, I asked him, "What does it feel like to wear clothes?" He asked me if my doctors saw fit to release me yet, and I said no. He listened to my lungs for a second, and mentioned something about speaking to the nurses. The next nurse came in, walked up to me, looked me in the eyes, and said "You are free." I highly doubted what she said, until another lady walked in with the documents to discharge me. Not surprisingly wheelchaired out of the hospital felt great. I had begun to really yearn for my freedom the last day or two. I'm sorry, let this old man tell his tales.

I have been singing this parts of this tune and looking up snippets of words to find this song. For so long…it got to the point where I wasn’t sure if the song was even real or just something I made up in my head. All the words I could remember: “on the road” “no return”replacing no coming back “my love is” I finally found it.

I'll be 52 tomorrow. I don't remember the first time I heard this song, but it seems like I've known it my whole life. But I must have been 10 as well ❤ that's wild

Missing my husband RIP, he was a truck driver, so there's plenty of meaning in this song, and I treasure it. I love Robert Plant, too!

Headed west and watching that blazing sun set with the orange glow. Light traffic. Too dark to see the road while all above has that purple look. Quiet except for the sound of your tires rolling and this song playing….. Sweet! My love is in league with the freeway And the coming of nighttime

It’s about the constant travel of the man in the band … bringing your gifts to the people all over the world where They are …isn’t easy. Lonely and a lot of miles, lots of it driving not flying.

WHERE the fuck DOES time go. I closed my eyes listening to this song when I was 20... and I open them again and I'm nearing 60. WHAT THE HOLY CRAP HAPPENED?
