Saw him in Orlando and they rocked! After the show my GF n I went got a slice and a drink, headed for our car and we ran into him walking to a club, he invited us but we didn't want to impose on him, he talked with us for a few and took a couple of pics with us. I kind of wish we did take him up on his invitation and pick his brain on music but I'm sure once he was in da club people from the show were going to hound him we didn't want to be one of those people. He's a class act that's for sure.
Dream Concert . Susan T and Derek Trucks Band , Indiginious , Robert and family band , Warren Haynes and Little Feat , ending with the Allman Brothers band .
I will go to church anytime with Robert Randolph! I saw him about 7 years ago at Madison Ribberfest, and his band blew the concert out of this world! Rock on!
Brooklyn Bowl 11/26/2013. These guys are all over the place! Lots of diversity: electric jazz, blues, Allman Bros, guitar jazz, Louisiana Styled blues rock, Jimi Hendrix rock-blues, 60s psychodelicia, and more! Lots of energy! These boys sweat up a storm pushing wicked riffs and licks and barn shaking vocals! I WILL go to this! Hard worker, class act, loads of entertainment!
It's great that someone with all that talent on a pedal steel guitar, and who can sing so well is so 'down to earth'. I stumbled on a video of him and his Band on the Letterman TV show, and sought out some more of his work. I will now get some of his C D's. I am in the UK and run a Country Band with a pedal steel guitarist in in, thanks again for the info' Ron.
Goddamn did anyone see them switching instruments mid song around 53:00 ish? The fact that they kept the song going STRONG shows how talented these guys are.
I posted the pictures we took on Facebook and posted them on his page and he sent me a thank you reply with a nice little message,so on top of meeting him I got that.I showed my GF the message and she got jealous cuz she didn't get one too. He definitely a cool dude and an awesome musician.
It appears that the techs that are there are not usually the ones he tours with and works with. I don't think he had a choice but to give vocal cues because the sound guys and techs didn't have a clue. I thought he did the best he could given the situation.
@markyncole..You're right...great guy..down to earth, humble..you should have gone..if he invited you it was sincere..I know Robert..a local guy from NJ..class act!
I'm Sorry Robert But Your Keyboard Player was a COMPLETE TURN OFF. Was She Playing ? Did'nt Look Like It To Me. What Was She Filling In For My Boy You Normally Have, Cause That's What It Looked Like.
