I’ve been on a murder jury and having someone’s future in your hands is a huge responsibility. I’ve heard this jury wanted to go through all the evidence before they made a decision. That’s something I can respect. I think we want jurors who are thorough.

100% the evidence is this trial (wasn’t staged - wasn’t part of a “set-up”) IT WAS UNDENIABLE - AND I TOO REPECT THE FACT THE JURY WAS THOROUGH! Guilty - beyond the shadow of doubt! Still requires those who have someone’s future (w/regards to life behind bars) in their hands! I watched this live the other day. I was disgusted by his mom, wife, and ex wife, all of them begging for leniency "so he can one day see his family again", but there wasn't one word of sympathy for his victim. Not one word. They rug swept and completely ignored what he did. Know who can never see his family ever again? Jeff German.

When I heard Jeff German's brother's and sister's speak of what an amazing brother and uncle he was, truly made me so sad. Thinking of their future holiday gathering's being totally different. And how involved he was as an uncle to those kids. Really tore me up. A true family leader that is now taken away. So when Telles' wife and mom came up and spoke it kinda pissed me off. It seemed disturbing to me the things they said re: have mercy on my son so he can see his kids later. Telles will have visitation in prison. He can call from prison. The German's will not have that luxury. If I were Telles' father if I had to speak I would have simply told the German family how horrible I feel for you all. You didn't deserve to lose Jeff over an article. I am so sorry for that. And that would have been it. To say anything about this physcho killer needing mercy and a chance to see his kids later in life. F that. Life in prison, to me, should have been the sentence.

His grandiose nature, bullying of weaker, lesser people, his incapacity to reconcile his physical stature with his societal position- ( prison society being his next experience) also his sense of entitlement and victim mentality. I don't see him intergrating well, and suspect between the fractures in personality and prison will see many, many, many writeups and infractions, if not his abrasive demeanour causing conflict amongst the prison hierarchy. I found it interesting that as Mr. German’s family gave their statements, RT had little reaction. He appeared to listen and wrinkled his forehead as if he was genuinely hearing what was being said. I did not see any emotion .. no sympathy for two sisters and a brother who lost their sibling or nieces and nephews who lost their loving uncle. Yet, as soon as his wife entered the courtroom, he became emotional and even had tears as she spoke. Seems to me a truly innocent man would have had some real emotion as he heard the victim’s family express their loss. Criminal behavior or actions do not always result in a criminal record.

This was not a heat of the moment situation.He meticulously stalked and planned the murder of someone whose writings he did not like. If he believed the writings were untrue he could have sued for libel. If the writings were true, then he brought it all on himself. I don't see how he qualifies for 'mercy' any more than any other cold blooded vicious murderer.

When the mother spoke that's what I was thinking, too! He was expected to be a parent and not the child.

I thought this was going to be Dr John’s coverage of Telles’ recent television interview with Matt Johnson. I saw Dr. John’s discussion in real time. But appreciated hearing it again.

I knew a very famous investigative reporter years ago. He changed his phone number frequently and acted paranoid. I didn't understand it at the time, but certainly get it now. This was a senseless killing, so sad...😢

My mother left my father when i was 5, decades ago. As oldest of 2,: I became responsible & quality control & trainer for babysitters as my mother worked a lot to suddenly provide for the 3 of us. While i definitely have issues i didn't eventually kill anyone.

Juries are so fickle and unpredictable. I think they tend to be dominated by one or two forceful, persuasive persons. I thought a guilty verdict would have been a cinch. Wrong again! Your show provides a lot of insight into the psychology of juries and other participants. TY for that. BTW, Dr.John was one of my favorite rock musicians. Have a great day!

Question: Do you think he broke down at home and admitted it to his wife? If not why would she speak for him?!

She stayed with him after the domestic violence incident and after cheating on her. Then she goes on to testify about Telles's great character 🙄. Im sure his wife knew exactly what happened in the murder

Can the judge change the sentence from option 2 to option 3 during the Oct sentencing?
@zakkaryzoah1386

Not in Nevada, but she still needs to reflect the two special circumstances in the sentence.
@squeegeelady
@squeegeelady 16 дней назад
@@zakkaryzoah1386Judge L can factor in one enhancement, and add up to an additional 20 years to Telles' sentence. If that runs consecutive, he'd be eligible for parole in his late 60s but still have up to a sentence of up to 20 years to serve for the enhancement. Parole for either sentence is not guaranteed, esp if he maintains that crazy set-up story.

I think the issue is that he didn't have an attorney to speak to his supporters about their statements. If I were his attorney, I'd have worked with them on their statements and raised the concerns Dr. John spoke about.
