No it was not. He said Colby didn’t spam takedowns vs Usman but he did in the rematch with 11 TD attempts and held his own. Chimaev vs Burns was technically not better, they also both gassed after 2

Chael is usually super reasonable until it comes to Colby. Half his videos are "Usman shouldn't get a rematch" and "Khamzat should be at middleweight". He just wants Colby to fight Leon but not get fingered by Khamzat on the way to a shot.
And that's exactly what Colby wants as well. Colby has only fought two fighters in the Top 15...Masvidal and Usman. And he's done his best to dodge Khamzat as well. It's title shot or nothing as far as Colby is concerned.

The idea that khamzat would steamroll Colby is pretty silly. Nothing we have ever seen from Colby or khamzat leads to that conclusion. Even if you think khamzat would win, it’s not at all clear or obvious that he would destroy him Khamzat had a war with Gilbert. Is it obvious Gilbert would destroy Colby ? If Gilbert can stand with khamzat, Colby definitely can. And Colby has better wrestling than Gilbert. So..
Rob Whittaker is the sweetest fighter and it's like even if you are not a fighter you will still be able to challenge him for a fight. Not because you will ever be better than him but because he will probably not beat you up...
I love Rob but I definitely pick Covington and it’s because of that massive weight cut for khamzat. After round one I think Covington eats that man alive.
@@youtubeconnollyfamily Khamzat has all the tools to shut his lights out within 3. Colbys only asset against him is cardio but that only plays a part if he's dictating the pace of the fight and Khamzat is just as much of an elite wrestler if not better. A rough night for Colby is all I see

Honestly Rob is one of the few fighters I've seen get their picks consistently right, because of how he analyses the fighters and their styles compared to their opponents, whereas Chael does the opposite and brings a lot of the biased opinions involved.
He's not even top 10. I don't have to be an expert on striking techniques but ultimately it boils down to the fact that Whittaker doesn't hit people very often and he doesn't hit them with anything that effective. How the fuck can he be a top 3 striker?

On the contrary Izzy struggled a little bit in the first Vettori fight and a lot more in the Gastelum one. Have a nice day Sir !
Rob has a high fight IQ.. you can even see it in his own fights.. such a technical fighter/striker. His explanation here was very clear and makes complete sense.

Rob is a stand up guy, Chael is a fantastic critic. There is always 2 sides to discussions, and people will always take the side of the person they support. I love both these guys for actually saying what they believe in, cant ask for more than that
Every time I hear Whittaker speak, I respect him even more. He's a world class fighter and former champion, and possibly an even better communicator. This is someone to aspire to be like as an exceptional all around human being.
There's strikers and there's strikers. Almost no one in the UFC is a 'bad' striker but there's levels. Rob is a world class striker, best of the best, so are people like Leon Edwards. We saw what Leon's striking did to Usman when he though he could stand with him.
He also had a 50/50 back and forth with a 5ft8 BJJ specialist. Wouldn’t say his striking is elite or separates him from any of the top wrestlers in the division

Rob is still probably the best overall Middleweight fighter of all time. Silva is the GOAT, and Issy has such high level striking and is so long, that he can point fight against anyone. But Rob is probably the best Middleweight fighter ever.
