I bought a small cutting of brugmansia from Etsy, and about 3 months later I have an entire mini-tree in my garden, full of pink blossoms. So fragrant, so beautiful. It’s truly a magical plant. However this is one variety you do not want to ingest, handle with care people!
Some years ago I bought one of that plant of 3 or 4 color , but it became just yellow flowers. But anyways I love It . It survived the freezing weather that we had some month ago. I love these flowers.
its gorgeous !!! I thought I had one growing from seed.... but its a winding vine.. So a local nursery kept 2 for me and He picked them up for me... they've got the leaf that forms before it shoots a bloom - which is happening...
How did they get two distinct and different colors on one plant? Ah, planted together! Orange & Pink together: hear at 7:57 Mine are planted in the ground, since we live in a frost-free zone. I love Datura more than almost all others. When the fragrance is the strongest, you think you have died and gone to heaven! Hence the name "Angels Trumpet." Love love love!
I didn't know you could just stick a Datura cutting in the dirt to plant it - I've always seen them rooted in water first. Will have to try this! Datura grows and blooms year-round in Central America where I am now, and they grow into real trees, 15 feet tall! Plant near your driveway or walkway to have a fragrant evening surprise, each and every day!
These 2 different colours of Brugmansia 'Angel Trumpet' are planted together in 1 pot. They are not fake. The reason why they don't look the same as ones owned and grown at home is because they will have been repeatedly treated chemically with a horticultural dwarfing agent. Sprayed on the foliage then absorbed by the plant has the result of shortening the length of any new developing stems in between the plant's nodes (leaf joints) and given the flower buds develop at the new closer leaf joints then, upon opening, will give an impression of a more floriferous plant. The foliage appears more dense too. So when planted and given no dwarfing chemicals the plant will return to it's natural habit which looks much more elegant, the way it's meant to be. They need watered every day and fed 2 times per every week when big and still growing. The 2 plants in flower shown on TV need potted on to a more generous size container. Dry out just once then oftentimes Brugmansias will go stubornly dormant. It's only the pink one that noticeably colour changes. There are quite a few other different single colours out there and in semi double structured forms. Springtime's best for availability. All are stunning plants. Like lots of plants found in the wild and in gardens, if eaten they'll make you unwell. You may have to controll Spider Mite pests by sending mail order for beneficial Bug predetors. Keep a magnifying glass to search leaf undersides for tiny bugs. Wonderful plants. Brugmansia 'Angel Trumpet' is worth having.
He's right these plant is very easy to grow in the summer i even have them growing here in Washington State where's cold and rainy. I planted one in my huge pot to put indoors over the winter. Now that i know it's poisonous i'll be extra careful.
I have grown these for years and never did the colors look so bright on mine or any I have seen. I’m guessing these are possibly airbrushed but super fun to have and grow. Very poisonous so if you get one be careful with children and pets. Enjoy
While the Angel Trumpet or Brugmansia is a real plant, it only comes in one colour per plant, eg yellow, white, pink etc It does not look multi-coloured in one pot like this. The one they are showing is clearly fake and the flowers are plastic. lol.
These plants are real. however the display is fake. Watch any of their other videos, they always have fakes for display. The only way you’d have bicolor is to graft them.
No, they are not "illegal." Marijuana is illegal. Datura seeds can be poisonous or psychedelic, but the tobacco companies didn't care to make them illegal to have no competition for tobacco. Only Mary Jane.
It’s only dangerous if it’s literally ingested, and animals can sense the danger of these plants, so it’s really only house pets that are in danger, but if it’s in a gated garden or you don’t have outside pets (which defeats the purpose of even having a pet) then they are essentially harmless. Plus they make your whole yard smell amazing, and are very garish in their beauty.
Real flowers. In my area we have only pure white, pink streaks, and orange.... by grafting I guess you can get all colors in one tree. Poisonous, but evening aroma from flowers is delightful after sunset.
Why are you saying these are fake? I don't see any wire, and you can see lots of Datura videos here. My Daturas are just like these gorgeous specimens; they just don't have different colors on one plant. He planted two together in one pot; that I have to try!
