BlueRaspberry Wow -- and what an evening it was. Unfortunately there is no video of the dancing (yet - hopefully someone took some), but I can tell you that the sense that Roberto covers the whole stage, and moves with the speed and athleticism that is conveyed here is absolute. The stage could not have been big enough..he covered the stage from side to side - huge leaps and ....wow it was fantastic!
Camille Roberto and Julie have been a magnificent partnership, and we are going to miss them dancing together - however I suspect that their final performance - (doing exactly this!) in June wont actually be the last time we see them dance together - of that I am pretty sure :))
Camille Julies final performance is at New York Met on June 20th as Juliet opposite Roberto as Romeo :) I will be there - and its bound to be very emotional - I usually end up crying at the end regardless but this time it will be so emotional - I have mixed feelings about watching it - but I cant miss it!
lemonduh I cannot say for certain anything about when we might or might not see Julie again dancing with Roberto. What I can say is that she and Roberto adore each other, and I would not be at all surprised if we saw her dancing in Bolletour2015..but that is purely based on what I know of both of them - I have no insider information, :). I saw them both dance R and J on 20th of this month for Julie's ABT farewell,. but I also saw her two days later in the audience watching Roberto and HeeSeo do Swan Lake. ..so watch this space I guess. We get some indication of what/who might be dancing on the tour fairly soon :).
Just like that! Alessandra Ferri says of Roberto "He's a perfect partner. He's so strong -- it's a pleasure. You can really abandon yourself. He's the strongest person I have ever danced with. For a woman, to be in his arms is very reassuring," Julie Kent is such a feather too - :)
One of my favorite versions... undecided between this and Bolle/Ferri, but this is really special! (Wish you had Julie's very last R&J, but you would have posted it by now...thanks for sharing)
I dont think it was recorded anywhere. I was there however and it was as amazing as you would expect and especially poignant as a final performance. I did capture the flower shower however, which was a really emotional experience.
***** :)) I have just seen Roberto and Julie at her farewell performance, and it was magical!! I understand totally the need to see it - but unfortunately there is no full production of Roberto dancing Romeo and Juliet - despite my concerted attempt last year to get a DVD made...There are only a number of 'parts' of Romeo and Juliet with Roberto, but as soon as one becomes available be sure it will be on here :)). I would have sat with my camera on through the whole performance last month - but unfortunately it would have been confiscated :)
