Max Ng, Regional Manager of Western Canada, ConeTec, presents his talk "Roberts Bank Terminal: Overwater Site Investigation Case Study".
Abstract: This presentation provides a look into a complex marine geotechnical investigation near Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2016. Work included a number of deep (100m+) geotechnical tests using different techniques, as well as a variety of sampling. The presentation looks at the goals of the investigation, the challenges faced in the execution of a program and the creative solutions/ techniques used to collect the data.
Speaker Bio: Max Ng is a Professional Engineer, who graduated from The University of British Columbia in 2013. Max started with the ConeTec family of companies as a field engineer in 2013, performing technical duties on numerous tailings related projects across Canada and the US. He quickly progressed his knowledge and experience by conducting and eventually supervising various site investigations around the world, helping start the international division, working in Europe, Africa and Australia. Since 2017, Max has worked as a Supervisor, Operations Manager for both Mud Bay Drilling and ConeTec, and now is the Regional Manager of Western Canada for ConeTec.
