Agreed. Also, Robin joined with the special skill of "assassination", and Brook's swordsmanship specializes in high speed attacks that defeat the opponent before they know it. Basically, an ambush/assassination duo.
Irony being she thought it was funny to turn into a demon to scare Black Maria before liquifying her insides with dragon claw breath Sanji warned her not to Underestimate Robin, but she didnt listen Brook warned her she said a bunch of stupid things and now should be running for her life(She just was pissing Robin off), but she didnt listen
It was a little too much (too much effects and lightning) but if you compare with poor Franky fight, Robin is well deserved ahaha This is for now the best fight of onigashima imo. And the first true 1vs1 for Robin ! 18 years after Yama at Skypeia (he had no chance against her).
Important thing to note is that DF abilities like the Ripe Ripe fruit won’t work on unwilling participants whose Haki is significantly stronger than the user - AKA pretty much anyone with Haki since Shinobu is not a proficient user. That’s why Law can’t Shambles Big Mom or Kaido - their Haki is significantly better than his.
@@AllonaShareeTV Allona. Robin was never any badass fighter. Stronger than Nami but not on the level of lets say Yamato. This is her first serious one on one with someone powerful. Most of her past fights were with Fodder. It makes sense for her to have a had time here. Before her 2 year training with Dragon Robin was above Nami but not one the same level as the others.
I dont think people realize how strong this version of robin really is, to be able to break an ancient zoan types’s bones requires off-the charts levels of physical strength, they are known for their amazing durability. Robin is not one to be taken lightly anymore, she’s definitely getting close in power to Yonko commanders like smoothie

Granted, the Rosamygale grauvogeli wasn't a beefy spider. It was less than a cm long and had subpar defenses even by spider standards. Black Maria is big and strong simply because she was already like that without the DF.

As it was already mentioned in the roof fight: Law could not teleport Kaido or Big Mom because when the opponent has a strong enough haki he can reject some effects of devil fruits (that otherwise would be broken) so for that reason I think Shinobu would not be able to just make Kaido old. Neither Toki could have just sent Kaido to the distant future. This are suppositions based on what we know of course. Oda has not explicitly said all those other powers would not work.
Black Maria is a top lieutenant of an Emperor. She is on a whole other level compared to most of the people Robin has gone up against before in her life. It would have been pretty cheesy for Robin to come in and just own someone that strong without taking some damage especially in an actual physical fight.
No it wouldn’t have, we know who she is and we also know if Robin went all out this fight would of been over before Maria knew it just like Robin said. It would of been fire if she came in and owned her of rip. We didn’t need 16 minutes of her getting punched out and Black Maria moaning while doing so. They could of kept that shit. This fight should of been over in the first half of the episode. The only flashback we needed was the one where she got the training that brought about the devil form we saw at the end. The padding is crazy in one piece episodes, a lot of wasted time. They rarely ever come right in and beat an opponent let alone a powerful one. This was predictable as hell, this is what they always do. Robin with the slightest training can be one of the most deadly characters in One piece. It would’t have been far fetched at all or cheesy like you said, it would of been badass for a badass character. No need to toy with your food, brake her back already.
@@meatyp09 Robin one shotting a Tobi Roppo makes no sense. Only Big mom did that. They're Kaido's strongest fighters after the 3 Calamities. If Robin was that strong, she would be fighting Queen or King instead of Maria.
@@kaossilator8545 Robin broke her back as soon as she transformed. What you saying is the flash backs to fill the episode was necessary because Black Maria is a Tobi Roppo. Nobody said she was weak, if she was she wouldn’t have that title. It’s still levels to this, she is nowhere near Queen or Kings level which is why those fights go to Sanji and Zoro. She did one shot her after all the annoying ass moaning and punches, she is stronger than her, if she goes all out the fight is over in the first half of the episode. But to pad the episode we got Black Maria moaning while punching her for 60% of the episode and flashbacks we’ve seen a million times for 20 percent of the episode. The only flashback we needed was the one where they showed how she trained to get stronger. Black Maria is not on Sanji’s level just because she is a Tobi Roopo, Sanji would not call Robin to her death, he knew Robin could handle her and so did Brook. He wasn’t worried at all he told Black Maria she should run. Right after that she changed to her demon form and snapped her back, there was never a struggle, it was padding. She turnt up and broke her back and it was over.

You started out "I hate this robin" to "that's my girl!" Lol being a manga reader I already knew of the form but man does it do justice when it's animated.
what I love the most about this is that not only did robin use her devil like nature from her life of abuse, but, after years of being a sideline character and fan service, got a major fight and was epic.

A fun detail more shown in the manga than anime during this fight is we see she did do a version of Fishmen Karate before Fishman Island: back when the crew met Surume (the Kraken) and she helped in making sure Sunny didn't smash into the sea floor.
Great reaction, I think shinobu sees more what momo represents than what it is, she sees the last hope of continuing with oden's descendants but at the same time she is afraid that it will be lost. In order for the shinobu fruit to age kaido, it would be necessary for her not to be detected by a yonku's observation haki and for her armor haki to be greater than kaido's, not counting the use of advanced king's haki to protect themselves that they the emperors use.
They called her a Demon Child through the past 22 years. So be careful what you said to Robin, because she’ll became a demon with her Demon Blooming which is similar to her Gigante blooming earlier
I would say in One Piece at least recently, not only has the anime matched the personalities and moments in the manga well, it actually does a better job at flushing out the characters and a lot of moments.

One of the best episodes of Wano. Hell, OP as whole for me personally. She's just so badass. As I said, I love Nami to death but Robin will always be the best girl for me!
Neither did Oda until he pulled that plot device out of his booty for no good reason. Aging up Momo was just one of the many reasons Wano is considered a disappointment compared to Sabaody/Marineford or Water 7/Enies Lobby (both of the best arcs in One Piece being pre time skip arcs says a lot about the trajectory of the series). Shinobu's powers were only shown to work on inanimate objects until the plot needed Momo to be a big dragon just for the novelty.
Definitely felt your sentiment on Robin for the majority of the fight. She got destroyed in this fight on every front until she pushed a win button. In the Manga, Black Maria gets scared when she sees Demonia Fleur, and tries to run before being grappled and clutched compared to the anime where she tries to throw a punch, but gets overpowered. It felt underwhelming as Demonio Fluer is really no different than her earlier clone, just bigger and "scary" looking, but instead of webbing Robin, or trying to catch the big target on fire, Maria just kind if gives up fighting having also casually discarding her polearm earlier to boot. Animation was great though. Added scenes like the derishishi laugh helped sell the spooky factor. And the transformation had extra flair that was awesome to see for Robin. Having Maria throw a poison/haki punch was cool too.
I do believe the one piece is real. Robin has always been my best girl in all the animes put together. Glad she finally got her shine on it's been far too long. Now if only Ussop gets his turn, my god it's a shame we haven't seen his haki put to good use in a fight.
The thing with Shinobu's Fruit and Momo is that she can't turn him back. He'll basically lose 20 years of his childhood in an instant, becoming 28 years old while keeping his 8 year old mind. So that's why this is so hard for her to do to him.
Shinobu and the others want him to be a leader, but Momo's still 8 and can't really fight so it's definitely normal for her first instinct to be keeping him off the battlefield. It would also be a huge blow to morale if he died, or a massive hindrance if he was taken hostage. Plus it's her and the scabbards literal job to protect him, so trying to stop him from making rash decisions is definitely something she should be doing.
In the Manga, Shinobu was reluctant to age Momo up, for the reasons she gives here, but she doesn't put up as mucha fight as she does here. However this tells me one thing. Spring is gonna hit hard!
The anime drew this fight out super hard. It wasn't anywhere near this long in the manga. Robin didn't get her ass beat for 10 minutes. It was literally 2panels of her getting punched.
16:32. i'm pretty sure she cant do that to kaido since her haki level (will) is a lot lower than him. similar to how Law said the other day that he couldn't shamble the emperors apart due to their strong haki
I mean its kinda like the same with Sugar. He could easily touch Kaido and turn him to a toy if he could touch him. But you must have stronger haki than them though. And also to actually get the chance to actually touch him
Shinobu’s power wouldn’t have worked on Kaido because strong enough Haki can keep you from being affected by certain DF powers. That’s why Law couldn’t have teleported Kaido or Big Mom into the middle of the open sky or the sea. Their Haki is too strong for normal people’s powers to have effect on them
16:35 not really, apparently if someone's haki is very very strong, it can even block someone else devil fruit's power. When Kidd asks law to send one of the two yonkos away law says that he can't do that because their haki is too strong. So i think that shinobu cannot grow old neither of them with her power, but I'm not sure.
Actually Shinobu can't do it on Kaido. We have seen that if someone has a really strong haki can resist to the effect of a fruit. For this reason Law couldn't just use his power to put Kaido and Big Mom in the sea for example. So Kaido with his haki would resist to Shinobu's power

It might not have worked on kaido, as kaido has really powerful haki, but the hommie's big mom made shinobu could have rotted them away to nothing, the pleasures would be nothing against her, possibly the waiters to. I feel shinobu has to be made foolish as her powers are really OP. she could do to people what the drugs did to hody and his crew
Well i wanna answer the shinobu thing but it is a spoiler for the next arc basically DFs are not that all powerful against haki users. So sugar wont be able to defeat kaido and BM
I feel you so much on being annoyed with most of the episode. So much padding, watching you knew it was setting up a bad ass moment but we gotta watch her take punches and listen to Black Maria moan for 80% of the episode. All while getting flashbacks we've seen a million times, it sucks. This fight could of been over in the first half of the episode. Love seeing the demon child get some love but damn the padding can be a pain in the ass, I really hate when they do it but I guess you gotta take the bad with the good.
