ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS Clip - "Rabbi" (1993) Mel Brooks
PLOT:Crusading nobleman Robin of Loxley (Cary Elwes) escapes from prison in Jerusalem and returns home to find that the evil Prince John (Richard Lewis) has confiscated his family estate and is abusing the citizenry. Robin enlists his blind attendant, Blinkin (Mark Blankfield), his friend Will Scarlett O'Hara (Matthew Porretta) and Little John (Eric Allan Kramer) to help regain his home. Robin also hopes to woo the beautiful Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeck), but her chastity belt may prove a challenge.

It's also a meta joke, reference to Get Smart, where "missed by that much" was a running gag. Many jokes in Men in Tights are callbacks to older Mel Brooks work.

He's 97 years old (born 28 June 1926). That he's working at all is a borderline miracle. He has some minor roles coming up and is producing Young Frankenstein Live! for ABC. I doubt we're getting another movie out of him at this point.

@@JarrodFrates Unfortunately, Mel stopped doing them 30 years ago, after a few films in a row got low reviews... he later produced a few musicals based on his movies as this was what his late wife Anne Bancroft was working on in final years of her life. Similar style was picked up by ZAZ (David Zucker who is, admittedly, a self-absorbed hack) and the Wayans with Scary Movie, then ran into the ground with endless "[Thing] Movie" films... I wonder if Brooks films would be well received if he returned in mid-2000s.

I remember when my brother and our friend did.....BASEketball bowling. Basically, during your turn to throw your ball, others can say whatever to try to get u to miss or lower your focus to throw a bad shot. During our friend's turn, I got him to miss by using Rebbi's quote about his Drunken mule......."I don't like the way you're walking. You've gotten into the sacramental wine again! You're ******* you Drunken mule you." He busted out laughing and ended up falling over during his throw. (Mainly due to his unorthodox bowling approach, leaving his posture and balance way off)

Never did understand all those 'removing the tip' circumcision jokes. if anything it's _defining_ the tip. making it more immediately clear you've got one. You wouldn't call the rolled-back cuff of a shirt the "tip" of the sleeve, would you? Yeah it leads to great "keep the tip" jokes and all, but it always bugs me.
