Actually, in 92 after Finola Hughes left GH, they did recast Anna with Camilla Moore for two months, but the fans didn't take to her. Thus, they brought Finola back for an episode, then "killed" her and Robert in the boat explosion. And the rest is soap history on both characters returning from the "dead".
Actually, it didn't transcend soaps. This kind of storyline should've been done on General Hospital. Have Anna be on All My Children for eternity if need be, but the reunion should've been on GH, even if they had some AMC actors crossover to *GH* for the reunion episodes.*
@lilchicklets Yeah, I figured that's what you really meant - the power of Robyn and Anna's story, but I wanted to tell *_the_* story, or as you call it "the boat."...
@@jenniferwellman5311 they could never recast these characters for 1 simple reason---back then the actors ad libbed many of their lines and they often put their stamp on the characters because they put their personalities into the character. Therefore , whenever someone replaced them even for 1 day it never worked. Once KMc came back they got RS to come back as Noah and FGH and TR came back as Robert and Anna and all return periodically
I just learned they did recast Anna for a few months when she left Gh they had some one name Camille Moore playing her when her and Robert supposed to blow up
@@lilchicklets yes, ans so did JW, TG, and JR. That was how they brought their personalities into their character. GM allowed them to do it as long as they got the plot points into the dialog---that's what made the dynamic between Robert, Anna, and Robin so great
This reunion was just awesome & as much as I would have loved to have seen it take place on General Hospital, after what GH did with the Robert & Robin reunion a few years later, thank goodness this reunion took place on All My Children instead of GH. At least one of Robin's reunions with her parents was wonderful & true to the characters involved.
To be fair, Robin knew what happened to Anna after the explosion and she knew Anna didn’t know what happened to Robert, so it was fair to assume Robert just abandoned Anna to fend for herself
No matter where it happened, it was awesome. The reunion needed to occur one way or another and if GH didn't want to do it, AMC did and did a wonderful job with the flashback and Robin fainting into Anna's arms.
I can remember the day that the actress who played Robin Scorpio first appeared on General Hospital she was probably 5 years old and now she's in her 30's.
Most moving part for me was when Robin took Anna’s ponytail and looked at it closely and stroked it like she had to check and be sure absolutely every part of her was real.
It always brought me back to when she was little and would play with Anna's hair - always thought it was a nice "real-life" touch brought by KM and FH.
AMC did a great job where GH didn't. They could have had these scenes on GH, but for whatever reason, decided not to. AMC or GH, it's good Robin and Anna were reunited.
I loved these scenes, this reunion was better than the Robert/Robin reunion... either Agnes Nixon or Jean Passanante was the HW of AMC when this happened
I didn't know about this tell I watch an interview with both actresses talking about them reunited in abc. So I looked for the vid and here it is. They should have reunited in GH or in paris.
If they were true GH fans they would follow these characters to what ever soap decided to bring them together. I can't believe the GH is still on and they canceled AMC, and OLTL. They should still be on.
@@sammydegg At that time I couldn't faithfully watch all the soaps I wanted to except GH and DOOL, but when I found about about Robin and Anna on AMC, I made sure to watch
I blame the horrible reaction of Robin to Robert being alive soley on the writers. There were so many different ways to play that story line but they didn't care about past history. The Robert Scorpio we knew (and Robin knew) would have never let her believe he was dead unless severely threatened but even then he would have managed to let her know. I agree, it wouldn't have had to be as warm as this (since it could still be that he knowingly stayed away) but it didn't have to be such a trainwreck LOL
@@JackieG0630 well I'm pretty sure when they "killed off" Robert and Anna they didn't believe we'd ever see them again. After 15 years they had to come up with a plausible excuse for both of them to be gone for so long. It just amuses me that Robin was so ready to forgive Anna but was so angry at Robert.
@@tracyroweauthor Robert chose to stay gone… Anna didn’t! Robert also watched from a distance while the love of Robin’s life was dying and she found out about her own hiv diagnosis and never even tried to help her… at that point the threat was already dealt with he admitted himself he could have come back but he chose not to that is why Robin had a hard time forgiving him
@LAtvFan as an AMC fan, let me also agree with you. For as much as I loved Anna, even I can't deny her character's primary history belongs at the same soap which spearheaded classic characters like Anna under the visionary Gloria Monty. Clearly this reunion fell a little short by being a simple two member story arc whereas GH could spend at most an entire week knowing all of Anna's connections in Port Charles
@Smiley L Wow I guess you don't remember the Spencer family, The Scorpio family, The Jones family, The Baldwin family, and other families. Too bad. You should go back and watch to help you remember. :)
@Smiley L No we still have families even now. The Corinthos family, along with Michael and his son Wiley. We still have the Quartermaine family. We have Hamilton Finch and his daughter Violet. There is also Maxie and her kids. We had Lucas and Brad with their kid until the truth came out.
@Smiley L why are you being so rude?? So you don’t like gh? So what? Other people do in my opinion the 90s were the best gh ever had I don’t like it anymore but that doesn’t mean I’m going to be rude about it. Why don’t you get a life? And grow up while you’re at it.
@Smiley L I’m not being nosy I am standing up for the person you were being very rude to you are on a public platform your comments are public keep that in mind next time you decide to open your mouth
I remember this reunion! Too bad it wasn't on GH. :( Alex!!! UGH! I hate her!! This whole storyline about Anna having a twin sister is so stupid. I hate it.
A lot of daytime actresses hated playing twins... Finola... Jensen Buchanan from Another World... Vicky Wyndham from AW hated playing a doppelganger...
So this is when she found out Anna was alive, what about Robert? When did she find out that Robert was alive? I know he returned in 06 and 08 on GH so it had to have been discovered prior to that....
She knew Anna was alive 1st and found out she had lost her memory. It wasn't until 2006 during the Monkey Virus she found out her father had been alive and watching her from afar for years
Alex was a good doctor and happily married to Dimitri before leaving AMC to find out why Charlette wanted to kill Anna and Gabriel, their half-brother. In GH, Alex and Dimitri were divorced and Alex became the evil twin. Didn't like how the writer wrote the storyline.
So Alex was raised by that mister Charlotte who stole her and brainwashed her to kill Anna and take over her life. Alex broke free from that and was happy and bonding with Anna. I keep hoping the stupid Alex is evil on Gh can be another side affect of the brainwashing and they can redeem her.
Because those that were involved didn't let anyone know that Alex has a twin, Anna to protect Anna. Stella can't tell them apart because they're identical twins. I believed at that time, only Alex, Dimetri, Edmund, Bert, and Joe knew that Anna was Alex's twin sister.
I for 1 am glad this happened on All My Children. I can't stand General Hospital. Too much about the damn Mob! And Sonny and Jason! which the only reason they are popular is because everyone thinks the actors are hot. I'm a woman, but i dont care for any of them on GH. although a few characters i wouldnt mind seeing on amc. like robin staying permanantly. i do like epiphony.
