Fun fact: This game is sort of the “successor” to the adventure forward games, it was originally going to be the third one being a along the lines of a fan game as the original creator left the platform. If you want a platformer game that uses Roblox’s basic built in movement system then I think adventure forward is the best one on roblox (or super paper roblox)

some extra trivia! Stars align used to be a fangame for an old roblox story game known as Adventure Forward. originally trying to continue the story of it and clear up loose ends. unfortunately, said fangame was cancelled and instead became its own thing. and this is great. it has made itself its own style and that's well... what you said in the video!

Platformer games are cool but are often overshadowed by simpler obby games like Tower of Hell. Roblox has small community of really good obbyists that have mastered roblox's r6 physics engine but are often threated by roblox's plans of "updating" r6.

Not sure if you will, but combat initiation has gotten a MASSIVE update with a new stage and new weapons. I HIGHLY recommend seeing the update as it goes HARD.

I've had that game stuck in my bookmarks to "play later", and I never got around to even trying it. Throughout my time on roblox, I have stopped playing new games or trying the slop because I felt that what I had currently in Fantastic Frontier was fine. For years, I was fine being in that bubble of not being disappointed by other games that are either soulless in design or flops. I had developed a sense for when something looks unique though, so I kept that favorite on there. Bro I was not expecting you to cover this at the same time I started playing Super Mario Galaxy 1 with my sister again!

Roblox doesn’t really want an identity anymore. Not just 1, at least. I often use “The Oasis” from Ready Player One as an example of what I think Roblox is trying to achieve. It wants to be the “one-stop shop” for anything you’d want to do on the internet.

And yeah, I'm seeing kind of a new wave of devs that genuinely want to push the boundaries of what this platform can have in therms of quiality and gameplay, we have seen it with games like Hours, Phighting!, Combat Initiation, with Stars Align, but also with games like Neon Knights, Abyssal, Skyven, Tower World. I mean have you seen the development of Parkour Reborn? That sh1t is taking an eternity to release and yet they have already reach a level of quality, movement system and structure that I have not seen in anything but triple AAA games. And they are aiming for much more! It's depressing to see that to have succes in Roblox you have to aim for cash grabbing systems of progression, specific parameters to make the player fall in an addiction, and brainrot clickbaity content and thumbnails to grab players just because Roblox treats it's devs as literal sl@ves not paying them Sh1t for their work. I know that these games will never reach the popularity that others do,but really, it doesn't matter, all we can do is show our support and love to those projects, you can always donate to devs and is appreciated but only takes us to demonstrate our appretiation with numbers. We won't be the docens of hundreds of players that some games have but hey! it's something. And really, all of these devs and their projects makes me genuinely hopeful for the future. With support and passion, what we cannot do really?

Years ago I used to make fan art for a game that I believe had affiliation to this game (I’m 100% sure of this because the discord server was revamped for stars align) and I actually played the early version of stars align like 2 years ago or something like that. I completely forgot about it and this video reminded me. (Btw the game I played was adventure forward 2)

I was waiting for someone to show this game off! (Saw the game a while ago around February)

This was a surprise in my recommended! Great video that really takes a minute to focus on the now and future of the project that's really appreciated. Course it has a long history, but people tend to focus a bit more on the past than the present and future at times. For the music work and design philosophies I had with the game, I always focused on broader inspiration, and primarily at not limiting myself to it simply being a "Roblox game." I always approached it as a full indie, and so that's where I took a ton of my inspiration from, bringing unique ideas and feelings to the music side of things was my massive focus. I know DM Dokuro was one of the main music artists that inspired My work, and in terms of figuring out how to help and provide thoughts on other areas of the game, I Ended up deep diving into the realm of indie platformers with things like Demon Turf, Sami Roll, and other games. To me, The primary purpose was simple, Make the best damn game we could, and prove that there was still creativity and talent present on the platform.

I also think this game is amazing, and personally it connects to me really well since I loved playing A Hat In Time, as well as some Mario games and Adventure Forward and playing it reminded me of all those times playing those games, having so much fun in these colorful worlds. I am so glad that Stars Align exists and it doesn’t care about the algorithm, giving it no limits to speak of. Can’t wait to play the full game… whenever it comes out.

You should cover an obscure game called defend the statue the np edition. It's kind of akin to the fighting games that you've covered just instead your defending...a statue. Also you should do colors in question with your therapist. It's a fun puzzle game.

I really like stars align because it’s a solo game mostly. Because most other games on Roblox that are very unique are mostly fighting or in certain aspects you need other to play like critical strike before it stopped updating. It’s really fun to. :>

Oh boy, i GOTTA recommend you pilgrammed, sure it's a fighting game, but you can also chill out with you friends and discuss instead of constant fighting, it also takes some goofy sides as theres a boss literally named *OLD FART.* thats right, *OLD FART.* I'd still recommend it tho, it is beginner friendly. edit: theres also a boss named granny and its pain

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend checking out Ghostly Manor. It’s still in development, but what is out so far is amazing. It’s a Luigi’s Mansion inspired game currently having one game mode (as of writing). It’s based off of the Scarescraper from Luigi’s Mansion 3 you go on different floors, defeating ghosts, collecting a certain amount of money, etc. I’d say it’s heavily team based so playing with friends would make it more fun (you can go solo if you feel like it). If I had to critique it’d be that there really isn’t much to do after you’ve played for a while (might just be because it’s still in development). I assume a story mode is on the way so look out for that. Overall, a really fun game to play, check it out.

Just a little game suggestion while we're on the topic of platformers: Heroes of the Forest, a neat platforming game with lore, collectibles, and even boss fights! (including a secret boss). i really like it, the platforming isn't perfect, but it's still very good

A HAT IN TIME WAS MENTIONED WOOOO I HAD A FEELING

When this video released, I was so hyped! I waited for years to play this. And the game is AMAZING! The quality, the style, the graphics, the mechanics, everything was perfect. And it was originally the third Adventure Forward game. Investing into the lore of Adventure Forward: Star Savior, it was supposed to into the lore of the last guy in the extra symbols levels. And also maybe Celesteal since that guy is basically the man’s vessel. Unfortunately, the series got cancelled and turned into Stars Align. But when it was first released, it was amazing. The boss fight, the mechanics, everything was great. And now this. Just perfect. PERFECT! I can’t wait for the full game.

Random fighting-turn based and kind of strategy game: block tales, it recently got a update so playing through it all will possibly take a long time ( around 1 hour for each chapter if you know what you are doing and around 2 if you don’t ) 3:15 oh wait you were already playing it, imma check if you made a vid on it :/
