As a long time starscape player, I feel like this video did cover a lot of features in starscape adequately, however I don’t like how Faction warfare was almost totally ignored as currently it is the main way to get large scale PVP content. To summarize, there is the Lycentian federation, Foralkan empire, and Kavani mandate all fighting each other over contested systems and most battles have anywhere from 8 to 30 players. I feel like the reason Skit didn’t feel a “felt community” is because he wasn’t that involved in the main discord/FW community. I have been playing this game since 2021 and I’ve met many great people because of the community. Overall, I recommend giving the game a try. 6/10 feels too harsh, I would give the game an 8.
Skit you didn't go over Fleet Warfare or Player Factions. FW basically is 90% of the fun you get from Starscape. The Starscape community often organizes huge battles, with a recent record of 200+ players in a single system battling it out.
3:50 Galaxy on Fire man.... You just awoken the good memories of my child hood right there. I was addicted to that when I was in middle school. I am 25 years old now, and I still play Space Trader games like it.
Overall, the review is pretty thorough. I'm really glad you were able to more or less objectively touch on the topics of the games, whether good or bad. I think nearly every Starscape player can agree with your critique that was described, especially the monotony after even a few hours of gameplay. Even when skimming over massive gameplay loops or features like faction warfare, I think you really did a good job in describing the game with justice that it deserves.
Great vid, but I don't suppose you could eventually make a part 2, could you? There's a little more to Starscape than this. A lot of people have especially been talking about faction warfare. I personally avoid it because I suck at PvP, but it really is probably the most active playstyle right now.
Skit, you have to review Horizon Blue: 1919, just came out a few days ago, made by the devs of Frontline Karjala, and its an authentic and fun WW1-esque (but alternate history) game set in a second Franco-German War i think right before the drafting of the treaty of Versailles
I’ve always viewed starscape as tradelands in space. They have their differences but its always been similar to me cause of the cargo trading, the piracy, the factions the mining grind etc
Starscape updates have been a bit slow lately, but the game is still fun, especially with friends. There’s also another similar upcoming game called Constellia which is currently under development.
The fact that there isnt a big team working on this is genuinely insane, i believe it was just keth and 2(?) other people or him alone with a bit support from the community
it was just Keth, Binary and Drezzlez offered to be involved with programming but I think Keth decided that; considering that it would meaning both constantly having to look over the work of other people and the time it would take to get them up to speed with the code base that it would put him in more of a project manager role than just coding when he wanted. There are also the modellers who have made a bunch of the design for ships and other things around the galaxy which are really good.
Ngl man you should remake the video you made on entry point like 5 years ago, it has a lot of content and a lot of lore added, including codes (the little grey bar below the level bar)
Now for an ACTUAL comment: The people whining that skit missed factions and FW have severely lost the plot. If FW is "90% of the fun of the game", then that in of itself is a problem. A game shouldn't consist entirely of a repetitive, time-consuming, low-reward, frankly boring activity that breeds excessive toxicity. The other aspects of the game should be more well-rounded and enjoyable. That's why I fully agree with skit's 6/10 rating. Starscape just isn't a finished game, even if it's kinda marketed as such. It's core gameplay loops are SEVERELY under-developed, and other aspects are either poorly executed or just not well thought out. About the biggest thing that Starscape has going for it is it's natural beauty, but even that gets old and stale after about a week. Starscape just isn't a very fleshed-out game in general, it's a beta game and it shows. It seems to me, personally, that keth was so focused on adding new game features, that he didn't think about fleshing out his existing features. What he said about the community being unforgiving is also one of the truest things I've ever heard.
Do a reveiw on Grave/Digger and Horizon Blue: 1919. They're both good games but G/D doesnt have much content yet (its in beta) so can you include it in your HB:1919 video? Thanks.
at first i don't know what the hell im doing while playing this game, i just played it to pass the time and relax since i just go around and collecting stuff on my stratos on wild space. But then when i finally learned how the hell things work i wanted a good starter ship (a corvette) to destroy some drone factories, and when i looked at the manufacturing i was surprised that i can make 2 destroyers and 4 corvettes with all my then resources. Edit : now i have a Conci, Justice, 2 Infinities, a Radix, an Ozark and Shroud and also my favorite The Stratos.
I used to play Starscape for a bit, but once I got my 1st destroyer, I was bored enough to quit. I thought that PvE ship would mix up my gameplay experience, but as it turned out, it got really repetitive really quickly. That being said, It is one of the best games on Roblox. No P2W, stunning visuals + music and a solid(albeit boring) gameplay. The game is mostly community run from what I can see(infrequent updates, community run market and events), so it would be wise to join some discord servers. I was a bit dissapointed how pointless FW is. Apart from gaining resources and standing, it doesn't really matter that much. Contested systems are nice, but really, just go to the wild systems. It's much more profitable and the risk isn't that high as long as you are paying attention to the player list.
Hey, Lycentian Admiral here. I have 1 million credits. I am not a noob, but the game is SLOWLY BUT SURELY dying. It is sad to see a good game like this go. PS: I dont play the game anymore since i have done everything you pretty much can do.
Starscape is in my opinion one of the best Roblox games. It has a lot in it, requires real skill, really fun, good economic system, good lore, good political events, and one of, if not THE BIGGEST MAP IN ALL OF ROBLOX. My ratings for it is a solid 9/10.
Skit, can you review Lexington & Concord (L&C)? It’s similar to G&BP and B&I in a sense. B&I in the muskets and G&BP with the objectives in some maps. Within the game, there are several classes and maps with 5 nations: The United States, Great Britain, France, and the rare Robloxia and Crossroadia. There are the maps of Concord, Lexington, Concord (N.B.), Bunker Hill, Yorktown, Ticonderoga, Quebec, and more. There are several classes and unique gameplay and I’d love to see what you think of the game! Thanks!
I myself am a bulk miner I run 4 Yukon with precision miners to get massive amounts of basic resources (rek, kor) and transfer it to my main account using a galaxy to store it.
It’s a roblox space game centered around a galaxy which players can fight each other based on faction system where they can choose to fight for what faction they want to join
The game has an incredibly rich combat/pvp system with dozens of ships, strategies and a ton of customization. Starscape also has a very rich faction based community with many dedicated and skilled players organizing massive battles. Unfortunately this video did not cover any of the afromentioned content. Skit, I hope you give the game another shot and join a faction, as your review does not cover a majority of the game.
the whole thing with spice is probably copying spore's space stage, spore has had that for years and years and it has colored spices with the same premise
Hey skit could you please revisit Bleeding Blades? I know it gets a lot of criticism beacuse of the very slow updates and beacuse of it the player count has been lower than ever (average stands at around 200 players) but since its first appearence on your channel 3 years ago its had some things added to it. Even if it isn't in the top priority list, maybe wait a few months and if you finnaly revisit it, it will be at the same time of a decent content drop
I saw that you made 2 Entry Point videos like 4-5 years ago and I have a question, could you make a Skit Review on Entry Point, since the game is finished I thought maybe you could do it.
9:45 They do have faction specific station models that change depending on who's territory you're in. (go into the faction borders and near core systems within other faction borders)
Skit, as for someone who as played this game for 3+ years, Starscape should be in reconsideration. First, you barely mentions about PvP, Player Factions, Faction warfare and 100 player battles. Those are already the main reason why starscape stands out compared to a typical roblox game. To me, what I saw is you explaining the hardest part in starscape. Which is grinding, PvE, mining, etc. If you join an active faction, people will help you to speed up the process. Not to mention, player factions allows people to engage with other factions as well. This includes faction politics. Faction politics will might then lead into those 100 player battles I mentioned about. There could also be battles in wild space. Meaning your adrenaline will kick in, and it shows the games full potential. To join these types of battles you could find a faction or, start your own.
@@SkitGamingjoin a faction and engage in the community before making a review, starscape is a community/faction based game not to be played solo and the PvP and strategy involved in large scale battles is hard to match, and on Roblox nothing matches it.
you should've talked abt the huge community part+politics and also there isnt a lack of felt community cause if you go and see around there are huge 30+ player engagements
