In this edition of Robo-Reviews, I finally take an in depth look at the Ronin Tactics Senshi belt. For those of you have heard my comments on this belt over IG or FB - I truly believe it's one of the best solutions to the "Battle Belt" problem in the tactical world.
If you've always wanted a battle belt that felt like a SINGLE belt - the Ronin Tactics belts are designed for you. I'll go over their pros, cons, and differences in detail to help your decision to grab one.
Huge thank you to Tu and the Ronin team for always being so open and great source of inspiration and information.

Fantastic review brother. As someone who runs this in the Real World the stiffener is a must for those guys considering it for real ammo. Standard load of 2 rifle mags, 2 pistol mags, side arm, fixed blade and med kit/dump pouch things start to get heavy. The stability the stiffener offers makes a huge difference 8-10 hours into a day and mitigates any loosing of the Velcro system due to weight.

Hey Robo, I picked up a Task Force Belt from The guys at Ronin Tactical, just have to say the belt is fantastic! Great retention, compact, pricy!; however, Im super happy with the purchase! Thanks for taking the time to review it and hats off to the guys and gals at Ronin Tactical! have a good one Robo!

+Greg Michlik Yeah man - I agree...it's definitely a pricey option. But like you've discovered - the "value" vs that "cost" is pretty high. You at least get a belt that is literally best of class. Glad you're enjoying it dude - have a great time with that belt; mine has been still kicking ass...just as well as it did on day 1.

I am using the TMC 1.75 Fighter Belt myself, it is an exact copy of the Ronin Tactics Senshi Belt. It uses genuine Multicam pattern and also a real Austri Alpin (cobra) buckle. It is very rigid, stitches are well-made and hasn't failed me once. I use two HSGI pistol taco pouches on it and also two Emerson (replica) taco pouches (which has proven to hold my mags just as great as the HSGI tacos fyi). Sometimes you don't need to go for the more expensive products. I wouldn't doubt the Ronin Tactics Senshi Belt, seems like an awesome belt however the TMC one is just as good.

Great looking belt and Five Stars for having a Cobra Belt Buckle ! My Tactical Belt is my old SOE EDC Belt w/Cobra Belt Buckle (but looks new) that I moved a lot of item onto... Do not need the Velcro for I do not tuck in the shirt and sometimes wear a jacket... My most important item is the 5.11 Dump Pouch so the zombies do not track or follow... Just added the Plastic Sheath of the Leatherman Raptor... And the light weight survival knife the SOG Seal Pup mounted on the strong side and may need a tie down. Remember your Tourniquet and Trauma Kit ! tjl
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 7 лет назад
Sounds like a good setup, Tim! As for medical: I'm never far from a Trauma Kit and never without at least one TQ - on the range, at an airsoft event, or just walking down the street. Motto I like to live by these days: if you are skilled in making holes, you should also be skilled in fixing them - and that job gets a LOT harder when your tools are no where to be found.

Not so expensive ! If you think a HSGI SGPB is 70 $ + 40-45 $ for the inner belt, we are at 110 $. For the price difference, depending on your needs, it is not that bad ! Good video Robo, thanks !

+oli36 And that's my point. Most people just see the number (the all inclusive number) and are like "WHOOOAA"...but they're taking it at a face value; they're not considering all the LITTLE things that go into other belt systems that pretty much add up to the same number in the end haha. Thanks for watching, bud! I appreciate it greatly!

Been looking for a new belt system, ran a rigger belt with a condor battle belt over top... it flaps around like crazy and doesnt stay down unless im running my leg rig on it to hold it down. Looked at the cobra belt by its self and thats a bit of money for only a portion of the system as i was going to buy an HSGI SGPB and then a friend mentioned this belt to me. This is the solve all belt system i believe and im going to be purchasing this thats to this review on it. And this system saves me a ton of money.

Robo great video man and i have a important question to ask you. What is your edc every day carry and would this belt work for edc. And this is extremely important to me pancakes or waffles. Once again great video.
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
+Jacob Ham Haha - pancakes or waffles :P My EDC is generally just a HSGI riggers belt, but you could easily wear this as an EDC belt, although - I would probably suggest the Shooter or Warrior belt in that case (just because it's just a bit less rigid). Especially for me, as a Canadian - where we can't carry a firearm, theres not a huge need for a crazy-sturdy platform as a belt. Just one that'll support minimal tool carry...like a knife, flashlight, and/or multitool.

Currently running an HSGI battle belt system with a G-Code RTI setup and I find that it's pulling the outer belt causing a sag and unnecessary movement while running. This belt looks great, though I'm wondering how it would perform with the G-Code with the belt's limited vertical MOLLE real estate. Does anyone have experience with a G-Code on this platform? Thanks.

Nice review. I have a question, how would a molle pouch that uses 4 channels mount to this? Could you make one work?
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
+Josh McMichael You could make it work, as it's a rigid enough platform, just understand the bottom rows won't be attached (or however you decide to actually mount it). It's not really designed for such large pouches, but it will work with them just fine.

Had an HSGI battle belt for a year and loved it except that it moved around to much and the added weight of the belt itself kinda sucked.. Changed everything over to Raven Concealment belt mounts on a Ferro Concepts belt and its 100x better. Downside to this is having to weave the belt in and out of belt loops and the mounts. These belts would solve all my problems

Could you still make a rappeling although it is attached with velcro on the inner belt?
@mudonyourface6432
@mudonyourface6432 8 лет назад
Only if you have the outer belt secured. As a climber, I would not feel comfortable relying on any rigger belt (particularly anything with a quick-release system like a Cobra buckle) for rappelling. I would only consider it as a desperate measure, which you should never encounter in airsoft. If you plan on rappelling at a milsim event where that's allowed, I would invest in a low-profile, purpose-made mountaineering harness and some qualified instruction. Rappelling is inherently dangerous, so treat it accordingly.

I've just recently bought the TMC Fighters Belt. It is basically the very same belt as the Ronin Tactics Senshi Belt, and having owned TMC's VTAC Brokos Belt I know they're great quality for what you pay (not very expensive), easily in the class as the Ronin Tactics, despite being a chinese clone/copy. So I am awaiting it now, looking forward to it :)
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 7 лет назад
Have you owned an actual Ronin or VTAC belt, instead of TMC? Having owned many "real" products as well as the TMC counterpart - I'll say this: while they'll do the job for an airsofter, at a great price...there's a reason they're a repro belt, made in China...and they're no where NEAR "easily in the same class as the
@simoneriksson6489
@simoneriksson6489 7 лет назад
Robo Murray Airsoft Ok I'd agree about that class sentence, that may have been an exaggeration on my behalf but there are shit chinese repros and there are grear chinese repros. I'd say that 101Inc and Emerson are in the lower quality section with their gear while TMC is closer towards Flyye or Pantac or some higher end chinese makers. Their pouches, belts, vests feels stiff and rugged, made from 500D to 1000D Cordura. If I'm not mistaken, 101Inc and Emerson often use Nylon in their products so they feel lighter and therefore more prone to rip. TMC also often use genuine Multicam pattern in their designs. But no, the TMC JPC may not stand up to the Crye JPC (the rubberized material on the shoulders are not the same as for an example) but the closest chinese JPC clone i've seen is the one made by Modi (I own one) and those utilize the same rubberized thing on the shoulders as the Crye JPC from what I've seen. It feels very rigid and I've played with it for several day milsims, and it has held up fine with pretty much no damage. And honestly, since the vest's sole purpose is to protect the wearer, if one would switch out the insert plates for real SAPI ones in the Modi JPC, that vest would do just as fine as the Crye in stopping a bullet, just as an example. Not that it matters in Airsoft anyway, but still worth noting. And secondly it comes down to budget. Yeah, i could spend a ton of $$$ on "the real deal" to look and act the part (operator) but it feels so unworthy and too damn expensive just for a hobby in which you participate once in a while with a few friends. And I'm still using a multicam-inspired loadout, but on a budget level and it serves me just fine (nothing's been damaged so far) and I can still "look" the part.
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 7 лет назад
Wasn't disagreeing with you original statements other than how you were first presenting it and comparing it (mostly the class sentence). Your arguments are definitely reasonably and logically founded; I agree with the use-cases you've presented. For me - I've gotten into buying real stuff because I've gotten into doing a lot more REAL AR / pistol work...where I'm carrying actual heavy, loaded magazines, and wearing ceramic plates in my carriers - hence why I own real stuff. But for "just airsofting" - it's not ENTIRELY necessary...although, the quality benefits of real kit are undeniable: Stitching and material quality in repro vs real is substantial, and does matter at SOME point in the wearers use.
@simoneriksson6489
@simoneriksson6489 7 лет назад
Robo Murray Airsoft No hard feelings :) Yeah, well... in a real world situation (ISPC, military, law enforcement etc) you are more dependent of your gear and so therefore I'd see a bigger purpose of using "the real stuff". But for Airsoft only? Not worth it really.

I like the slim profile and the integration of velcro with an inner belt inside the pants. My only concern here is that I want a belt that I can keep in my truck for tactical situations. I want to be able to put it on quickly and if I'm not already wearing the inner belt, am I going to have issues? I'm a big guy so I need it to stay put at my waist.
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
Sorry, had missed this, Mike. Apologies for the delayed reply. The system is definitely designed to work in cooperation with the inner belt. In your described scenario, without the inner belt in use, the outer belt being worn only around the waist (no belt loops, no inner belt), it's going to be a very unstable platform, I'd say. I mean - that's the whole concept of a traditional battle belt system: it's an outside belt, that has a wide platform to provide resistance against movement off the waist. For your described application, I'd still probably recommend a traditional battle belt system, if only a low profile one (Crye MRB or at least just not a hugely bulky solution).

@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 7 лет назад
I wear a 34 Long in Crye pants. And yes - pants and belts will differ...as you shouldn't confuse a "34 waist" to how big a belt is. When you order a tactical belt - it's going by the actual inches around your waist, not your pants waist size. You need to actually measure your waist and then line it up with the size of belt you're ordering.

There are actually a few belts on the market of this caliber. Most of the "big name" ones, or belts made by former SOF guys (like this one) generally come with a hefty price tag. Now, depending on where you are, or if you don't mind ordering from Canada, there are two companies that make similar style: Persec Aware, and Pekan Outdoor. Search for them on Google.

+Robo Murray Airsoft Did you order based on pant size or measure with a tape measure? how is the fit?
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
Rolando Salgado You have to order using your belt size, not pants size. If you have a tape measure - use that. Else - go get a tailor to measure (safest bet, so you know for sure). The fit is awesome. As long as you order the correct size - you still have a few inches of adjustment to make it perfect.

@robo murray airsoft, i have a echo one glock timberwolf, do you no a holster that would be compatible? CANT FIND ANY, and forget my earilier comment.. buying the belt XDD
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
+HilariousCsgoVids A Glock 17 holster will work, with a caveat: you need to file down the squared rail at the front of the TW to match the contours of a Glock rail. This is what keeps it from being incompatible with G17 holsters. This mod does not affect the ability to use the rail on the TW at all.

Robo Murray Airsoft thanks, I just placed an order for XL. I normally wear a size 38 pants and 40 belt. When I AIWB carry its 44 (measured). So I'm taking the chance this will work. It was there last XL TF in multicam black

InkwellFoto no problem man - glad I could give any guidance. Honestly - it's the best belt you'll ever purchase. Most of my close friends now own them (we're talking a solid almost 20 dudes that I know of) and they all share my opinion. Tu and team killed it when they released this belt. Let me know how you like it when you get it!

Hey Robo, what's the knife on that belt?
@robomurrayairsoft
@robomurrayairsoft 8 лет назад
+HaVoC Airsoft That would be a Spartan Blades Enyo. I don't carry it during airsoft games, as I'm an advocate of avoiding real weapons on the field. But I do keep in on there for "training" and such.

There is a such thing as "over-selling a product." I'll just get a the cobra buckles from my old belt, order some nylon and hook & loop, some epoxy and use my grandma's industrial sewing machine to make my own.

@robomurrayairsoft 6 лет назад
Ahh - sorry, had quickly answered this from my phone, and thought the comment was on my new montage video; sorry about that. That WOULD have been confusing :P In THIS video - it was just a custom kydex holster a friend had pressed for me; it isn't something you can purchase, unless you just ask any kydex company to make a holster for a 1911 with an Inforce APL on it. Those kinds of companies are dime a dozen though - so lots of options out there. Just search for "Kydex holster 1911 inforce APL".

@EasyOhh

Normally I’d say that $185 is way too much for a belt, but not when it comes to the ronin belts. Designed and created by someone who has dealt with the common issues seen with other “battle belts.” I’m dealing with these issues with a belt I paid $130 for, and I’m wishing I would’ve ponied up and spent the extra $50 for proven quality.
