I just picked up the trilogy on Blu Ray The Original just came to life unlike I've previously seen it, and the sound of his buzzing while walking into scene was something I must have missed on VHS I may wait a bit to pick up the 4k - Thanks for the review! I'll keep it on my radar!

2.0 stereo for me. Some of the scenes look really impressive. always a fan of 1.85:1 as well. I did notice some audio syncing issues but that’s easily adjusted.

It's been re-released at the cinema on the 20th of May here in the UK for one night only, 4K restoration, director's cut, not sure if it's been released in the USA or other countries.

@@eBoard3R Vue cinemas are the only theatres showing it, closet one to me is just one showing, misleading when I've seen an advertisement announcing it from Friday the 20th of May, makes it appear like it's getting a full theatrical release

Hey Adam, I really enjoyed watching this again don’t remember it being so funny I opted for the deluxe version I’m a steel book collector myself but on Best Buy‘s website the steel book they showed was the 2014I didn’t know there was a steel book for the original. Have a good one as always👍

Thanks for the nice review! RoboCop is really a nice movie ! Have already preordered the steel book. Maybe it’s not as good as the original but I love RoboCop2 too. I hope the sequel will also come to 4k steel someday.

This came out 2 weeks ago here in Canada. Looks amazing in 4k, such a classic iconic movie! I also saw this in theaters & was blown away. One of my favourite movies of all time!!! To quote clarence " bitches leave". So funny!.

Fun fact Robocop was filmed in Dallas Texas and RoboCop 2 was filmed in Houston Texas

Hi there, Adam! Yet another fantastic review, spot-on as always :). I'm a big fan of "Robocop 2" and I still can't get over the fact that it was so much underappreciated and even hated at the time of its release... However, it's great that it has developed some cult following in some circles just like another "unfortunate" sequel, "Predator 2" :). BTW: Maybe you could have a quick look at my new review of "The Lawnmower Man" from 1994 which I've just posted? It would mean the world to me if you could :). On apple tv which is a 4k release but not hdr will there be a huge difference to require getting a the 4k hdr disc?

I have been reading that the colours are a bit too saturated on quite a few scenes. The skins tones are noticeably cranked all the way to 11.

I didn’t notice that myself, though Murphy when he’s first introduced looked a little that way. I’ve always thought that was the case in earlier formats too.

I found an older Blu Ray of this movie in the dollar store maybe a year and a half ago (not the Arrow blu ray but the MGM remastered blu ray). It seemed to me like the Arrow blu ray was *slightly* better than that one, but I had heard rumors that it might be coming to 4K, so I decided to just stick with the MGM blu ray so that if it did come out in 4K, I would only lose $1 in upgrading. That turned out to be the right decision and I'm glad I did that lol!

I pre-ordered the steelbook from Amazon and there's no indication it is shipping yet. Bummed it didn't arrive yesterday. Anybody else experiencing the same issue?

Amazon has been extremely hit or miss lately especially in Canada. Low stock on launch day and random delayed orders constantly. It's actually been quite bad.

Do I have too keen a pair of eyes?! Cause I was quite disappointed by the video quality. The grain is just so much it's distracting. And the colors have little depth. Made me wonder if the entire movie was filmed on 16mm instead of 35mm film.
