I have no desire to buy collected random films from a studio but if Tootsie and Man for all Seasons are released separately I'd snap them up in a heartbeat.
mine arriving any day now. Looks like nice restoration keeping the natural film look intact. No wax and scrub for a squeeaky clean Billy Kid, that just wouldn't be right. Westerns are about mood, atmosphere and i think this one has it good share of violence.... old fashion way.
Remember how hard this was to find in the mid-90’s!!? A buddy of mine owned a EP VHS tape that was red! So thrilled when the DVD came out in 2000. Still have it. Might be time to upgrade.
I just don’t get Columbia and how they are picking these box sets, Nothing is remotely connected. It seems just a totally random grouping. Not getting vol 5 only really would be interested in two out of the movies in that set.
Great job on the announcement on Columbia Classics Vol. 5, I can hardly wait! Although I have to kick myself in pants every time there’s a new Volume for not buying the first one. Lesson learned!!
These Columbia Classics releases are frustrating. Still no way to buy movies like Stripes, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and Anatomy of a Murder on 4k without buying these pricey sets. Now, you can add On the Waterfront to that list.
WHY COLUMBIA PICTURES with volume 6 and more, should do: DAS BOOT, LOST HORIZON 1973, FOOLS RUSH IN, WHOs MINDING THE MINT, CASINO ROYALE 1967, 1941 (co-production with universal), fail safe 1965.
I'm all over that Columbia box set. There's usually one title in a box that makes me think, "Meh," but that set is solid top to bottom. Especially A Man For All Seasons, All the King's Men and Little Women.
I definitely gonna get Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on 4K and I like the both cover arts and it’s just so hard to decide which one should I get but I might go with the steelbook version though
