Why would a guy wanted for murder appear at a public reveal of a new revolutionary robot cop

he was so enraged with crimes everywhere, he became an interstellar envoy with superior mental and physical abilities.

"Let's do a major system change _just before_ he does a public event..." *That was really stupid.* They could have at least salvaged the situation by giving his family a version of the truth, explain to them that he's had a minor nervous breakdown when he saw footage of his own murder attempt and they've had to give him electronic sedatives. "We didn't realise how traumatic accessing his own file would be, he'll have to work through it and process the emotions, but in the meantime we'll be dampening them down so he won't have a breakdown. We all need to give Alex time, this is a major shock but he will come back from it. He's strong willed and he's got you both to live for. We'll keep you in the loop. But in the meanwhile we have to give the public the impression that he's fine. And between you and me, we don't want those that tried to kill your husband to know that he's accessed the data on the crime. It's safer to keep them off guard." And suddenly Alex's wife goes from a PR problem to a asset, helping them keep the situation under wraps.

Fair critic of this scene... why the hell didn't they do that on the eve or even a few days before the press conference in case something like THAT would happen?

Corporate woman: "We need him on stage" Science dude: "What you want me to do?!" Corporate woman: "Do whatever you need to do, your reputation is on the line" Science dude: "Ok, restart Windows and put him in Safe Mode, that should do it".

I mean, it showed how damn effective he was at doing his job

If this movie wasn't called Robocop it could've survived as a great TV series.

I like this movie, but there are things so, SO stupid in the script. Why do a critical procedure MINUTES before a public presentation ? Why rush the procedure ? Why not stop or slown down when things went bad ? This is just like Aliens: Prometheus. A good movie spoiled by bad writing.

Bob Morton and Dr. Norton has a great contrast to each other since they were both created RoboCop in th original and rebooted version. Bob Morton has kind of a bad boy lifestyle, taking some coke and hoes. Dr. Norton, on the other hand, was a humane scientist with strong beliefs. 4:56 Alex doesn't need to overthink. he let his AI technology do the work in scanning for threads while he uses his own eyes (plus his peripheral vision) and let the AI do the job to automatically scans for wanted criminals in his database stored. That's my theory in cybernetics.

Software Engineer here: why didn’t the just start with a small batch of crimes at the beginning and see how he responds? Why loading the complete db minutes before the presentation instead of a day before or so? It’s like deploying before a weekend, an absolute no-no. Sorry for the nerd talk 😂
