Cool cover👍 and i had this game as a kid and played the heck out of it. The c64 is system i just started doing covers for. the kronos 2 shimmering reverb is great for capturing the 'wurmy' sound of the SID chip haha other than the fake PCM drums you could modernize all the tracks with a 'Bass&lead' preset, I recently started using the Ensonic SQ-80 which is the big daddy of the ESQ-1 which is what the SID chip was supposed to be but so far I found it works better for Gameboy and MSX games but man what a wild synth probably my 2nd favorite analog
Wow, you've really dived deep into the dark world of retro gaming sounds! Your journey from playing RoboCop as a kid to crafting C64 covers is quite the evolution. You're like a musical necromancer 😜🤖💙
I don't know the PC game or the TV series, but the original film series Robocop parts 1 to 3 and I really liked them, my dear tumma prinsessa Katja! 🖤🖤🖤 And RoboKatja's piano playing is, as always, brilliant, virtuoso and touching! 🖤🖤🖤 Really love it! 🖤🖤🖤 Ihmettelen vain, mitä vampyyrikuningatar teki joka päivä keskiajalla, kun ei ollut pianoa saati videopeleistä! 😅🤣😜
Your journey from Robocop films to RoboKatja's keys is quite the leap through time and space. 🤖💙 "Tumma prinsessa" I like the sound of that though I might prefer "pimeä pianisti" more. That has a nice ring to it. 😁 About your wonderings of a vampire queen's daily life in medieval times... Clever question, Frank. Without pianos or video games, I had to find other ways to pass the eternal nights. I whispered melodies to bats and composed symphonies of their screams. 🦇
I'm happy you enjoy this classic! These melodies have a way of seeping into your soul and haunting your dreams. But don't worry, that's all part of the fun. 😘🤖💙
You've got exquisite taste. I'm glad my fingers could weave some magic for you. This piece is really fun: there is an ongoing robotic rhythm combined with an incredibly emotional humane melody. Exceptional composition 🔥🤖💙
@@KatjaSavia - You weave so well that I thought you were playing a loom :) and yes totally agree - If there was ever a time when computer game music wasn't given the respect it deserved - it only would have taken this song to convince even the most traditional of musicians!
Katja, I really enjoyed this song. It sounded beautiful on your piano. While I am a fan of chiptune music, I admit that I much prefer your version of this particular piece. It looks and sounds complicated, even though it maintains the same rhythmic pattern throughout. I certainly loved watching you play it and the magical way your fingers flit across the keys. You added a depth that I think was lacking in the original and I agree with you that it sounds better slowed slightly, giving it room to breathe and allowing us to really feel each note and its unique resonance. I never had a Gameboy growing up. My first handheld was actually the Nintendo DS, which I absolutely adored for its ability to let you play both DS and Gameboy Advance games. It amazes me what so many early pioneers in video game development were able to accomplish with the limited hardware and software that they had available to them. I think that's part of why I love classic games so much more than their modern counterparts. I love that people still produce new music and sounds using that old hardware and software in glorious chiptune, but then to see them reconstructed by your amazing piano skills elevates them even further. I am so grateful for your game music preservation efforts and giving these classic songs a new lease on life through your Modern Noir lens. It feels to me like stepping through a window into the past, and then taking it one step further into your own little dark dimension that you have created, Katja. Thank you for everything that you do and for sharing your amazing gifts with us. I look forward to your next masterpiece. Jonakin päivänä toivon olevani täysin uppoutunut kauniiseen maailmankuvaasi, Katja.
Your journey from DS to my piano covers is quite the leap. You've traded chiptunes for my fingers. I'm glad you appreciate the breathing room I've given the notes - sometimes the spaces between are where the magic is. Your love for classic games resonates with me. There's a certain charm in those pixelated worlds, isn't there? It's a thrill to preserve these gems since they represent creativity and true craftsmanship. Maybe next time you'll brave the darkness and join me for a duet. What do you say: ready to let your fingers dance with mine across the keys? 🤖💙
You never stop surprising! I love that you cover a C64 tune, and it sounds fantastic, as always! - I also really appreciate the production on your videos and the cool wardrobe you have in each video. Edit: Oh, I see that you have MANY game tunes. I am fairly new to your channel, but I can't wait to hear, and learn, many of the cool covers you have from various horror movies!
@@skibsteds - It's great man! definitely composed in mind with the lyrics, darker and more ominous, keeps the core - really works well! especially if you love Metallica - hearing the 'ghosts' of beats you expect is like some kind of brain based echo effect ;)
Thank you and welcome to the shadowy side of gaming and film tunes! There is plenty to see here and you're just scratching the surface. From 8-bit to silver-screen screams, here we've got it all. 🖤🤖💙
Just quick: 1) Somehow it makes me think "this should be playing over a scene from a Romantic Tragedy set in New York" (like maybe "The Goodbye Girl" if that had a sad ending)🤔 [I'm thinking I'm trying to say "intensely sad and poignant" there.] 2) For reference: I MEANT to add this to my RU-vid downloads this morning so I could listen to it on my phone all day... I forgot... consequently I've been HUMMING it all morning 🎵🎵🎶🎶... consequently, my co-workers all now think I'm insane. 😜 Let's just call it "Really GOOD!" and leave it at that. :-) 👍😉❤
"Really GOOD!" is an understatement, but I'll take it. Thank you! You're too kind. Humming this tune all day? Careful there, you might summon me accidentally. 😘🤖💙
Todella hyvää ja herkkää musiikkia, joka käy sydämmeen. Hienosti soitettu retro peli musiikki joka ei jätä ihmistä kylmäksi. Tippa tulee ison miehen silmään tätä kuunnellessa.
Ooh, Kalle! Kiitos! Tää kappale on kyllä erikoinen ja toimii mahdottoman hyvin. Emotionaalinen melodia yhdistettynä robottirytmiin. Mikä vois paremmin kuvastaa RoboCopin elämää?! 🤖💙
