Yes, it is Edsel Dope and he himself mentioned that the Person Edsel Dope will never be a part of Static-X, the new Frontman will and always will be XERo, the immortalised Version of Wayne Static. The Purpose being putting Wayne on the Spot and making him immortal with the usage of old songs, new songs, reimagining songs and so on. there is a bunch of stuff in regards to that on the internet. But yes, you are right, they were friends back in the day. This is why Xero will always be Xero and no one else ;)
Love static X, one of the first bands I got into as a kid and Wisconsin Death Trip didnt go platinum for nothing! Props to Edsel Dope for actually taking the honor of doing Wayne justice. "Evil Disco" as the old fans (and Wayne himself) joke about is alive and well. Also, in regards to Camera quality, the newer GoPro's film in resolutions up to 5k with a "Media Mod" that can had mics and whatnot ran to it. An affordable used camera body like the Sony A6400 or Fuji XT3 can remote record from your PC in 4k! Snag a cheap 20-50mm 1.8f lens and it'll look as good as cinema (I have no gripes with the quality, just an idea for when you upgrade!)
I love static X too! Kinda forgot about them for awhile but after hearing some of this new stuff, i fell back in love. And i appreciate the tips for sure! Im using an old canon 60D right now but definitely looking to upgrade in the near future. Just gotta pay down some bills first. You rock 🤘
A week ago, I've listened again some old Static-X songs (including Skinnyman and Otsegoelectric)‚ since then RU-vid keeps recommending me content about Static-X and this way I've discovered that they started to release songs again. I was shocked how I didn't know that until this year. I am glad that they are back‚ and I love the job that Xer0 (Edsel Dope) is doing at Static-X and the fact that they continue the legacy of Wayne.
Its not technically new, those of us who preordered the album back in 2022 been listening for awhile now >:D oh btw it's Edsel Dope as "wayne-bot 5000" lol.
