Restaurants in the United States are screaming for automation, especially in the back kitchen. Nobody wants a low-paying job doing dishes, and nobody wants to cook someone else's food. And finally, restaurant workers don't get the respect from the general public they deserve. Technology like this will enable people to do higher-end tasks, leaving the boring and simple jobs to robotic equipment.
Getting rid of all humans currently working in restaurants, let's face it, why would you want to pay people at this point? These robots are only going to get cheaper.
Revelation 13:15 “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Transhumanists DO Not write the Future
Robots have a certain precision, it's in the specification. They are not perfect (just in case someone thinks they are). The more joints the more inaccurate they become -- unless you are paying more for higher grade encoders.
@@mrechbreger thus the large amounts of malpractice cases that came out of attempting to use fully automated robots for some surgery types in the early 2000s. The robots weren't accurate enough and in some cases caused irreparable damage.
@@thesteelrodent1796 I think it's still part of the learning curve - I saw many companies who made shitty tablets in 2010 - 10 years later they are with top ARM processors and make good quality tablets. They gained the experience from the uprising systems back then. When looking long term initially faulty systems might look worthless - but the experience gained can be re-used with more sophisticated hardware. Of course this is also kind of a look into a glass sphere..
This "shortage of workers" thing is a bit of a misnomer that's being tossed around by everyone these days. The truth is we have a shortage of workers that are willing or able to work where they're needed, and quite often this shortage is artificially created by the companies themselves, by not offering a livable wage, decent working conditions, or the needed training. The Earth is still overpopulated and there are plenty of workers out there, but far too many companies still assume their labour will automatically appear if they cry hard enough, instead of doing what it takes to acquire that labour. For what it costs to install 1 robot to do a job, that same money could be spend training a dozen people to do the same job.
While we appreciate your input, it seems you might be generalizing the global labor situation without considering the specific circumstances prevalent in Japan. The labor shortage here is not a "misnomer" but a well-documented issue, primarily driven by an aging population and declining birth rates, not an unwillingness to offer fair wages or conditions. In Japan, these innovations are not a luxury but a necessity to keep industries afloat in the face of a real and significant labor shortage. We encourage a more nuanced understanding of the local context before making broad assertions.
Hey man. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. That is why Sawanobori-san also said these robots will never replace human workers at restaurants completely 😌 - Yasu
@@JapanGo I believe the robots can reduce the need for workers enough to where higher-quality individuals with better credentials can replace those who are less desirable serving the public. Relieve the suffering of the restaurant industry by reducing the need for human labor, and that can also reduce the labor shortage in other areas such as construction and building maintenance.
Thanks for your question. We didn't hear the exact price, but I remember they said the ice cream robot made by the same company costs 3 million yen (aprox. 30k USD). I imagine each of these robotic arms to be more expensive than that as it's more complicated. Besides, the PR person told me you can reach out to them via contact form for the exact price. connected-robotics.com/en/
Human makes noodles, Human Assembles Bowl, and Human added the toppings... Robot put noodles in wire basket and timed basket in water... ROBOT MADE NOODLES!

I just saw a video where a robot was making burgers. A few days ago people were complaining about the price of burgers, saying it was too expensive. I wonder what happens next?
Sanitary also I believe as of today maybe best way to cook at the restaurants in the future. They don't take smoke breaks, it doesn't take bathroom breaks, it's not talking and wasting time cooking?
