🐋🤖 Get ready for a fun and easy DIY craft tutorial perfect for your next robotics STEAM class!
In this video, we’ll show you how to build a model of a whale with a moving mouth and tail using only cardboard, scissors, a screwdriver, nuts, and bolts. We’ll also be using a BBC Micro:Bit and one micro servo motor to bring our whale to life. Designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind, this project is perfect for students aged 10-15.

Hi there! Very beautiful channel! I hope it grows a lot! I am not so sure about the choice for a BBC Micro:bit - in many countries it is almost unknown or way more expensive than an Arduino Uno Kit. Good luck!

@GeekDetour thx for positive feedback. I am aware of Micro:Bit mediocre (but growing!) popularity. I still hope it is readable from the videos that the models can be easily modified for any microcontroller board, especially in cases as this whale where the board is outside of the model so you can use anyone you would like.

Can I use something else instead of the microbit adaptator?
@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS
@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS 2 месяца назад
Of course, the microcontroller is outside of the robot. So any board that can drive a servo will work.

@@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS OK great thanks, any idea of what type of stuff I can use? As a microbit adaptator replacment?

There is inly one servo so you can try to poser it up straight from the microbit, you will need jumper wires and crocodile clip cables

Look at the simulator schematic in makecode when you add a servo block

Where do I find the code? I really needed 😢

This one is actually quite straightforward as there is no other function apart from openning the mouth. Try setting the servo to 0 or 180deg
