Rochelle, Illinois - May 18, 2016 - Before Quiet Zone Completion around the Railroad Park

I shot this video in the afternoon of May 18, 2016; at the Rochelle Railroad Park. The Quiet Zones are almost complete at the adjacent grade crossings. Also, the old signal bridges on both the UP and BNSF are still in operation. Crews were working on completing connection of the new signal bridges.
This was also my first video footage shot with my new Fluid Head on my tripod. I was amazed at the difference this makes. WOW. Highly recommended that Video shooters out there look into adding this to their equipment portfolio.

The bnsf railroad spike is from Denver Colorado

I guess the residents especially around the railroad park were tired of the train horns but the noise from the locomotives and the trains hammering across the diamond is just as noisy maybe not as loud.

Bnsf railway company sent me a railroad spike with the stamp v 2 11 12

I know. But, still a good location to watch trains. I am headed out there this weekend again.

Do any of the people who love train horns live where they can hear them overnight? I only ask because I don't, and I do, and they're pretty obnoxious.
