Super ! Merci (thank u) beaucoup (a lot) pour vos précieux conseils (for your precious advices), without RU-vid and you it would be more difficult to restore my old V8 GM crusader. Big thank You from Switzerland.
I think you helped me. My boat been flooding, running rich. To the point it would stall and not turn back on for a while. With the engine OFF fuel was still flowing out of the ventura. Or whatever you called it
Thanks for this video. I will run down each of these possible causes for my flooding issues. I suspect I have multiple issues. I am starting with the electric fuel pump, so I am going to add a gauge to check the pressure. However, what do you recommend to do if I suspect my power valve is also sticking? I rebuilt the carb and found it rusted and frozen.
As always very helpful. I have the venturi dripping at idle when warm and when stopped issue, noted in a article I assume by yourselves on a Carburetor-blog that outlined the following "If it happens at idle, or cruising along, then you have a problem. This can be caused by a vacuum leak, or something plugged in the idle circuit"... no mention of the main discharge. Just wondering the chief culprit to my issue? Thanks!
Im running rich is gas smell at exhaust. theres no fuel over the carb I look inside while running its nice and clear Ive adjusted the 2 mixing screws all the way out to see if that stops it. I dont know whats causing it its a 65 rochester center carb the cam is @.050 dura 217/229 vacuum should be OK all new parts for vacuum. Im going to test it today but any ideas?
Thanks Mike, for this really helpful video, but at about the 7:45 point, the video goes back to the beginning. So, we miss everything after that point. Hope you can fix that issue. And, yes, I bought parts from you twice.
Good afternoon, because I put that new carburetor on my 305 engine and it doesn't start when I try, I have to pedal and hit it several times. I have an electric pump and I want it to start immediately, what could I do to solve it?
The shaft of a carb can leak when they get excessively warn. At that point you have two options, pull the shaft hone the bore and install a brass bushing to take up the slop, or toss the carb and get a new one.
I have a marine 2 jet, I don’t see a fuel filter with spring on the inlet, but there seems to be possibly a screen further in the inlet, will this cause issues?
Hey mike we ha Rochester 2 barrel carb brand new, a buddy gave us, we are having hesitation in the beginning, basically it bogs down when take off from a light while pressing the gas pedal quickly. Any tips you can give us, the carb is on a 66 nova with a 194ci motor
Hello Mike. I have a 1977 GMC pick up with a stock 305ci engine rebuilt. New. I bought a new, not rebuilt, 2bbl Rochester to replace the old one. It was advertised for a bigger motor. It has .52 jets in it and it stutters like a rapid misfire at any speed. So did the rebuilt I had before but with .38 jets. [>
@@MikesCarburetor Thanks, rebuilt and still flooding. I think the needle might be sticking. Pressure was 3psi but dropped close to 0 so I think it's stuck open. Will disassemble again. Not totally sure on the float setting, this is on a Chevy 4.3 v6.
