I feel like the secret sound to early Beatles music is that crisp, clean guitar sound.

The other key is the sizzling nearly closed hi-hat sound. Seems like it disappears around Rubber Soul.

@@brenthooton3412 yes! totally true. Most think he had his hi hats wide open to get that sound but they were more closed than expected. His playing (probably with help from the engineer) worked with the compressors and mics rather than against them. Also, they were playing live in a room so he used technique to find the appropriate sound.

@@FKMDC yes, that was borrowed from @youngsvlog. I bought this one right before COVID happened cos we literally had no Rick to do these songs with. Many of the guitars we use we barrow, George had so many, and cos THEY played them, they are so overpriced. We own as many as we can, but guitars like the 12 string is so expensive and used on about as many songs in the catalogue as the classical guitar is.

I borrowed the black rick from Young in 2017 and recorded a ton of songs that got released over a few years as we finished them off. Some stuff like I Wanna Be Your Man, Beethoven, Ticket To Ride I recorded with the black rick but realized some errors and held off until we could do it correctly

I wasn't even going to comment on this because you guys must get tired of us regulars fawning all over your latest submission...but...I'd be remiss if I didn't mention your incredible video production! You guys really know how to stitch those instruments together while showing us how you played the parts. It makes watching the video so much more interesting and fun than some other channels where the camera focuses only on one instrument at a time. Great job, both musically *and* videographically :)

I like White Album for its songs and quantity, hard not to pick that one in 'one item on an island' scenario. Sometimes I pick Revolver for its innovation and having a perfect mix of the live act and studio creation. Rubber Soul and Please Please Me are also my favorites. I really enjoy listening to BBC stuff and Decca because its less familiar. Outtakes are great too

Thank you! My aim is to show the parts in a visually pleasing way, so the keyboard is composted together. I did 3 parts which is how I believe John Paul and George Martin performed the overdub together

We have collabed recently with Clay at Boulevard Recording. It was a very beneficial collab that will help to enhance our product, so that’s probably the only collab we will do for a while.

Not to be too pedantic but, I think George was using the Gretsch 6119. I always thought it was the J-160E though due to the picture of him with it during the song's session.

I believe the pictures are just from the day and the time is not really known; meaning they could have still been doing Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby for the photo. The acoustic sound changes from RnR Music to ETTBMB if they are both the J160. It sounds like John switched to the 325 instead of plugging in the J160, but I'm not sure. The vocal delay is the same between songs as well as yes, the Tennessean was used. I borrowed the Tennessean for a few days but did not get to this one. It's fairly background and figured the Gent would be fine for this song

Which version of the song is this? In the album version i recall John fumbling the order of the lines at the end of the song and even stopping his guitar for a moment when he realised he made a mistake, and the guitar comes back in a little later. This could be a different version, i haven't checked yet. Edit: the piano cuts out as well as John's guitar in the album version. Edit 2: just the piano, I assume john was on piano when doing vocals

So look I’m in a cover band. We just got together and we’re all kinda new to our instruments. I’m the most experienced of us (I play bass, guitar, piano). I was wondering if you could let me know what Beatles song is pretty easy on all parts, or one that would be pretty easy to play in a band. Thanks for any advice!

The Beatles were a seasoned, professional band by the time they recorded Love Me Do. Most of their songs have somewhat complex parts. The early ones are easier. I would start with there

So the piano is playing a fill doubling the lyrics on the 'if you wanna dance with me' part on the record. In their Munich concert here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_qF3NVIXuMo.html George is filling in that piano part on guitar, but that video has slight sync issues and I cannot see what he's actually playing.

Correct! George plays it at the 12th fret high E string and 13th fret G string. Most George tribute artists will do that lick to cover the absent piano. Here we used piano like the studio version

Great job. Always thought the piano made this track. All the Beatles’ live versions I’ve seen, when they chose to open with this on the ‘66 tour (without piano) seemed to drag and surprised they chose it for their limited set list.
