My husband and I have taken our McPherson College (Kansas, USA) students to the rock hewn churches in Lalibela, Ethiopia, eight times. If you get up very early on Sunday morning, that is when the churches come alive with all the priests dancing their holy ritual. our students love it. In recent years, we have, taken school supplies for children in the local schools as a service project. We, also, deliver Personal Energy Transportation wheelchairs to people who have no medical recourse in that country. Those who are to receive the wheelchairs, however, must be approved by the government BEFORE we can send the chairs to them. Thus far, we have delivered 25 to Ethiopia.

I am presently in Lalibela, the site is simply breathtaking. A visit to the museum where the knife used in the carvings is stored is also a must see for anyone who goes to Ethiopia.

My grandma used to tell me store about this place. She was born 5 miles away from Lalibela and this is the church she used to go when she was growing up. This church is very blessed.

Its incredible, God make those saints like St. Lalibella able to construct the rock-hewn church. Visiting the place, getting the blessings & spiritual songs is so wonderful. It has also impressive drainage structure.

I am Ethiopian currently live in the USA and I was lucky together with my son to visit the Lalibela Churches for the first time this September. We were speechless !! I feel down on my face and worshiped the Lord! Please do yourself a favor visit Lalibela! One more thing stay at Mountain View Hotel!, you will have the most Panasonic view!
