I am instantly a fan, thank you for introducing me to this queen by asking really thoughtful/funny questions. Sakura is also really eloquently expressing a lot of feelings i have about performing and Asian identity too- queer weeby Asian American live performers unite ✌🏼✨🤣
This is such a coincidence cause I had just started rewatching Cardkaptor Sakura, and I loved Rock as soon as I saw the meet the queens, so this episode being released in midst of my Sakura binge is fate!!!
if anyone hasn't seen card captor sakura (the original run), highly recommend, very fun and heartwarming anime and rock is right, sakura has a different magical girl costume every episode it's so fab

Rock is 100% correct about furries btw. I know a group of 7 furries- 5 of them study computer science, one studies history and the other studies art. THe most active ones and the ones that are the closest to completing a suit study computer science.
A Vietnamese/Filipino exploring their Asian identity through Japanese anime, wow. Goes to show that the lived experience of the Asian diaspora is often wildly, wildly different than the lived experience of Asians in Asia. I used to hate it when I feel like American Born Asians would steer the conversations surrounding Asianness, but now I know they're just trying to make a sense of themselves. They have their own issues and topics that's specific to their own groups. We have our separate issues that's just as valid even though we're not as loud. Much love to Rock M and Maddy.
