As many of you know, my first real success with this channel was "We Go Together" from the Grease Soundtrack. That was one of the first videos that I did, and I borrowed an expensive camera for it. I practiced and practiced, and the results payed off. I chose that song because I like the movie, and the song was a lot of fun to play (as well as being one of the most memorable from the movie). Now, I'm covering another song from the movie, but this time a patron has requested it. I'm glad that they did, because I honestly didn't recognize the song at first. Even though I didn't quite recognize it in the beginning, I now remember it, and also love to play it. It's a lot of fun, and similarly to "We Go Together" it uses a lot of the major arpeggio shape of 3rd finger, 1st finger, 4th finger, resulting in one note per fret, very low on the neck. It can be a bit of a stretch, or you can "pivot" your hand to make that reach. Either way, it's great practice and a lot of fun (despite how short it is)
Style: Fingers on a P-Bass
• Sha Na Na - Rock & Rol...
0:51 - Fingers, and a slide up the neck
1:13 - quick blip, around middle of neck, slides back
2:16 - kind of far shot, but lasts a good while
• Video
The only other live video I couls see of the band performing the song
2:21 - not a great shot, but fingers and either a P-Bass or jaguar? Hard to tell, but fender head stonk
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
