@@ThunderFist1978 I was born in 85 and It took me about 10 years to find out because for some stupid reason in the mid-90s the music industry decided hard rock and metal were lame for some reason and stopped playing them on the radio. Sometime around 2005 I was with my older brother driving back to Wisconsin from vacationing with my Dad in Florida all the way, non-stop. At about 2am this song came on while we were chatting and just before the keyboard solo I was like "Wait, I know this song, I've heard it somewhere before" we spent the next minute trying to figure out where until I remembered it was from Rock and Roll racing.
This is easily one of the best Midi renditions of a Metal song I've heard in general, let alone on the SNES. Tim Follin belongs along side Bobby Prince and Lee Jackson for this soundtrack's arrangements alone.

I always thought rap was my first favorite genre but I remember as a kid I played this game and hummed the beats over and over so I was shocked when I heard the songs were it was from years later and I was like "rock n roll racing!"

I fucking love this rendition! I’m a bit late for the party but damn hearing the original Deep Purple version and hearing this later in the future was quite the treat to hear. I hit the floor in total awe after closely listening to Blackmore’s 16-bit MIDI solo! Awesome work! I want a copy of the game now.

Ah Yes the game that always started fights at sleep-overs......still to this day this cartridge of mine makes everyone pissed off, you will be in first place then get shot up the ass with a missiles by your buddy, making you lose the race. Fair enough to say no friends had pizza that night after that stunt
I played RnRR a lot when I was kid and this song in particular is so memorable because I never got to listen to the whole song. I always finished the race before the song got to the epic, most-well known riff. Highway Star was usually used for really short race tracks for some reason...

My friends started out better than me, for some reason I'd always get frustrated with racing games. It was lack of coordination & when I'd accelerate I ended up hitting the sidelines hard & driving against traffic. Then Nintendo Power had a flyer that was sent in the mail to try to get new subscribers. It wasn't the big version but just a couple pages of the regular magazine, just a taste of what the full version had to offer. Within a certain preview flyer was two codes: Olaf the Viking Racer & Unlimited weapons!!! My friends never again wanted to play against me........EVER

Man, the first time I saw this for rent at the grocery store I just shook my head thinking 'Wow, what a horrible idea for a game.' I even read the back of the box & saw that some very famous tunes were used for the game & I still thought 'Nope!' Here I am decades later jammin' to a very good cover of this sweet tune, at random. :) I kicked this game's ass up & down & all around - so fun! Great tunes! "Rip was in another time-zone!" :)

Every time I play a racing game or see fast-moving cars in general, I can't help but play this in my head. So when I play Forza next time, I will probably be playing this in my head.
My main disappointment with this track is that it doesn't include the Instrumental bit near the end of the song. Right after: "*EIGHT CYLINDERS, ALL MINE!...*"
