Yeah as a German it’s just so cool to see them getting the international recognition they absolutely deswerve. Especially AnnenMayKantereit have been very successful for years in germany and now seeing other people also enjoy their art is just amazing

Every reaction video to this cover has the moment when Henning May starts going all in, where the eyes go wide after a moment, because the brain need a moment to get what just happend. That voice hits like a hammer, but in a very pleasant way.
Two band colab! They open for each other. First room one band second room the other at the end it's a get together. Henning May (gravel voice) sings mostly in German while the Giant Rooks are an indie pop band mostly singing in English. Nevertheless both bands are from Western Germany and more than fluent in English
That voice is a gift from God. Some people just naturally have talent. I wish I had a voice like Henning May. So much soul and almost pain there. Just shows how fickle the music industry is that neither of these guys are bigger than that are.

I think the first room is AMK and the second is Giant Rooks. Then AMK joins the Rooks gang, hence is why you see them just hanging out with Rooks without playing or singing much. I love this video and many others.
The second singer is Henning May from the band called Annenmaykantereit (my favorite band, so talented) both bands are from Germany but I highly recommend everyone check out more of Annenmaykantereit their songs are beautiful and they create all of their own music

I’ve heard this a dozen times now and I get goosebumps every time they start to sing. When the second guy comes in it’s chills. They are both amazing but that change up of voice is something else.

Sung during a University lecture impromptu no mic.

A rook is what we would call a crow or a raven in North America. I know these guys have their own bands and own sounds but I hope that they will collaborate on a larger scale given the amazing response to how they sound together. I’m 63 year old woman who musically grew up in the musical era of eras, the 70s. Always been a southern rock and blues kinda lady.. I’ve never liked reggae, and I prefer instrumental, jazz, not vocal and really disliked the Suzanne Vega original. (thought it was annoying b/c so little ‘color’ in it for me) THIS cover blew me away at how much I responded vibrationally to both at once.

They are members of the crow/raven family.
