Billy Joel actually deserves it. The amount of people he cheated to get to where he is is pretty sad. Not saying he isn't talented, his NYears show a few years back was one of the greatest musical events i have ever been too, but still had no idea of his utter smarmyness.

Joe Chabot I heard there’s 2 sides to some of that. For example, Liberty Devito wanted writing credits for a drum beat. His current band has been with him a very long time which wud suggest he’s not all that bad and perhaps even good to work for. He definitely had a period after this manager where he was likely suspicious of everyone and wudnt trust easily. As with most stories, there’s likely some fact and some fiction.

The manager was falsifying documents that he gave to Billy Joel ,so when he looked at the paperwork he thought everything was fine and didn't know there was any money missing . It's not like he had cash from a personal bank account go missing so the bank statement would tell him there was cash gone,it's all investments and dodgy business deals with tons of paperwork involved with payments from concerts and royalties etc coming in and the paperwork would show that this cash was invested here and that cash there etc. It's a lot easier for us 'normal 'people to keep an eye on things as we don't have millions invested all over the place,we have cash in the bank which we use to live on. Wages come in and out , we payout rent/mortgage ,Bill's,food,clothes etc etc so we notice if our cash is gone,it's a lot easier for us to know what's going on

...and still managed to have 600k in change and a constant stream of royalties.
