Not sure if this has been done but an idea: Rocket League Instant Rumble. As soon as you get your power-up it's used.

Better yet, instant one second rumble recharge, where both the powerup is used, and your car is disabled

@@TomasJansen05 not even. You're not thinking about this. If you're out of range of the ball/player, your plunger/boot/grapple/freeze/etc would NOT activate immediately, it would only activate once it locks to a target. The only things that would always be instant are spikes(and you could still drive), boomer(and you could still drive), and teleport(assuming you are facing abother player)

Love the recharging idea. How about, similar to how dropshot boost regenerates, every time you move you use boost and you have to stop to "recharge" your car! Haha

Another version of this would be cool - where you can only use boost to drive. No boost pads on the map, but the boost recharges like in dropshot. So as you use boost, it goes down to 0, then you can't drive until the boost starts to refill again

Some variation of this plus tactical rumble would actually make rumble feel very balanced. Every item in tactical has a different cooldown depending on how good it is so the decision would be even more weighty

Rocket League tag team would be so fun to see! Where you play twos, but every 10 or 15 seconds, one of you can't move. I feel like a plugin would be essential. But it would just be a 1v1 with rotating people. I think the positioning and strategy would be a blast to see.

Might want to try this with like 3-5 second power recharge. 10 seconds seems too long to be worth ever using it unless you get spikes or a guaranteed plunger goal Edit: this was commented a minute after the video was uploaded so I hadn’t gotten to the point where they did this

I've only just noticed that Leth never uses his power up after a goal is scored. Just for the sake of using it. The man's a psychopath. Unrelated, this reminds me of the idea to have parts of cars break for a moment, like a truly Sunday league version playing with broken old cars where jump randomly doesn't jump, boost cuts out, etc.

Here's an idea. The same thing, but with boost. Essentially, it's a recharging boost and if you run out you can't move until it's full again. You can make it more challenging by taking away boost pads, or leave them in for faster paced action

at 6:30, the powerup image on leths's screen was still there until after contact was made, and the following touch could have been done with no contoller output, therefore he didn't cheat.

The ball takes a split second to stop when frozen. If it was moving 240KPH then it could probably go 3-5 car lengths before fully stopping.
