I finally got around to watching all of this, and I have two takeaways. 1) I really want a Pokemon Metroidvania game now, and 2) Monty's not human. She made a functional rules light Pokemon system that worked well in two days, and that's after building Alivast in... was it a weekend? Two weeks? Amazing.
This was spectacular, what a cool system, what great characters, and what an ending! I'm not sure if it was from forgetting to blink from how invested I was, or actual real emotion (probably both) but I was tearing up. AND it's for the kids? This was just the best.

The system seemed simple, but really fun, capturing the spirit of the games, but more the anime. I look forward to giving it a go with my group.
Curious as to why the Mimikyu didn't have it's ability disguise. Wild seeing Shen and Sarah playin together (cause Shen played through Persona 5, and Sarah voices the fortune confidant character, no spoilers just in case)
No abilities for this homebrew system, it seems. I’m guessing it’s mainly to keep it as simple as possible, but anyone can implement abilities how they please in this system
*spoilers* Omg the fans love for you guys and the children literally made the whol party evolve to their final evolutions, when Gentle got the last one i heard ultra instinct playing, and when going to go off to face the final team rocket member it was a walk to arlong park moment
I enjoyed this run! It was a lot of fun with all the players & their respective Pokemon. I hope there will be more campaigns like this one in the future!
This is one of the best things I've ever heard. And I may be biased a bit because I was in a Mystery Dungeon game but Pokemon tabletop is one of the best types to play.
Ah no, their first opponent is Cubone? That's my favorite pokemon, now I gotta watch them get their ass beat. Like no joke if I was in this, that's what I would pick to play as
