One thing that I like about this draft is the talent that is ready to contribute immediately in a situation that will ask those rookies to play to their strengths in a reserve role. This is extremely valuable when teams don’t have salary cap to go out and fill a position of need and they can draft to do so. Teams like the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls are all teams who are staring at a salary cap and a lack of flexibility to fill large voids in the roster through free agency.

Okc kept drafting even with all that young talent I say use our draft picks you never know if one will develop into a star …. Use it or lose it

Yeah it’s going to be hard to trade this pick because like you said the bad teams don’t want the pick because having the ninth pick doesn’t do them anything unless they want to get rid of an older player. The good teams don’t want this pick for obvious reasons. Unless they can trade the pick for a shooter I’m calling the Wizards for Korey Kispert or Jordan Clarkson by talking with the Jazz. But I think getting those players isn’t happening so most likely we are keeping the pick. It’s simple if we are in the six to ten range get a shooter get Shepard or Kinecht. Or get a big like Ware or Clingan. I would be happy if we get one of those four players if we keep our pick

I got a small suspicion that this draft will be one of the most deepest draft in recent years. Not because of talents but the fits where this players will go will benefit the draft class in a long term. Honestly any 1-12 picks can win a RoY and there’s no clear top pick so which ever team with better position for the rookie will shine.

Jabari Smith Jr needs to get physically stronger just like Jalen Green.

OKC may want to move up to our 9th pick to get Jalen Williams younger brother Cody Williams. He likely won’t last until the 12th pick.

I hope the Rockets will draft Zach Edey. I like Zach than Clingan because he is a natural scorer. Not all center possesses that gift. Clingan can score but if you put him in the NBA standard, I doubt his ability, honestly.

Looks like many teams are eager to trade their pick; just read this about the Lakers too. Apparently not much excitement around this draft. Let's see how things shape up tomorrow. Clingan would be an interesting long term project. However, unless we climb 5 steps or so in the drafting position, he will surely be gone by the time it's our turn in the projected 9th spot.

I used to play back in the day and when I hit those weights hard I was like a whole nother player. I went from dunking from the free throw line to being Just another player. Yeah, skill is extremely important in the game of basketball.but turning yourself into a super human athlete is like a cheat code in itself.

I know Stone said he wanted to run it back but Ime is not going to tolerate that. I'm okay with everybody on the team but the Rocket's need a veteran shooting guard (someone better than Reggie Bullock) in case Jalen Green decides he wants to start the next season the same way as the last 3 years. The Nets pick and Landale and Tate should be able to get Malcolm Brogdan. Portland can release Landale and Tate and open up 15 million to sign a free agent. I think you will have to throw in the KPJ trade exception. Maybe throw in a second rounder. Nobody is going to make a better offer than that. Hopefully a move like that can move us into the middle of the league in FG%. We were 27th last season.

I think where our pick(s) fall in the draft will ditate what we do. if the 12th pick moves into the top 4 of the draft giving us 2 of the top 10 picks that could be appealing even in a weak draft, especially if combined with a player or other assets. I think there is going to be a lot of player movement this off season and we are in a GREAT position to pounce on anything we are interested in. I agree Frank. I got my eyes on Stone right now. while I don't expect any of the core 6 to be moved outside of a blockbuster trade, cashing in a few assets while so many teams are desperately trying to reshape their rosters might work in our favor. stars will hit the market this off season. all of them don't make sense for us, but there are a couple who do. Mitchell or Ingram are players who could move the needle for us. if we can move Brooks, salary fillers and picks and come away with one of these 2 get the pouncer ready lol

I agree we should trade the pick cause playing time seems to be at a premium. But we did once trade Rudy Gay after drafting him for Shane Battier. Rudy was all rookie first team and a 20 ppg scorer by his second season
