Inside the manual/instruction packet rockford fosgate gives a template on the screw holes and center hole for a perfect fit. They give two depending on if your using the bracket or the plate mount. Also just wondering what you were taught about soldering auto, off road, and boat type vehicles wiring harness. Over in the states I was taught to avoid using soilder unless soildering to a board. This is due to the heat that is placed into the wires when joining two wires together that it can cause a weak at that joint. Over time vibration and movment can cause a break in wires at the soildered joint. We were taught the correct way was to a use a heat shrink butt connector or the correct type of connector with heat shrink. Now I was taught this at Toyota school for electrical repair and diag. Then also was a question to my ASE testing and then again during a audio installation class from alpine. I was just kinda curious how others are trained. I do a lot more audio installs in boats and utv inow days as I left the automotive repair world for more exciting work like custom audio . I was just kinda curious how others are trained depending on location??
Just wanted to drop a comment saying good job! My gf's dad is kind of an audiophile but the setup in his boat is pitiful so I've been watching this series for ideas!
Wow amazing brother! It sounds awesome even through the camera mic im dyin to see it with the amp it's going to be insane. Exellent work as usual brother please keep making vids we love em.
Damn that install was clean and matched the interior of the boat extremely well. Can't wait for the amp to be installed, especially since it appears to be a sibling of the T400X4ad that I've had an eye on to replace the KTP-445A. -Didn't know they made 8-inch "coax" speakers like that, very cool.
Great install! Keep up with the videos buddy, I've watched all of them (discovered your channel through Doug's one haha). Just a question/advice: why didn't you use heatshrink on those connections? I think it's a waste of effort to put all the marine equipment, and then just rely on a piece of tape to isolate them from moisture, heatshrink surely does a better job than electric tape haha.
not sure if they're available there but Odyssey batteries are amazing 10yr battery. I run them in all my vehicles. read up on them and you will find that they created the optima spiral cell technology, which they sold when they created their new technology.
The metal speed clips should have been used. Guarantee as those speakers and driving that boat the vibration is going to back those screws out or wooble the holes tell they become loose. Fine thread screws in fiberglass is weak. Those metal speed clips are threaded to be able to screw down the speakers tight. A little thread lock and they would never loosen up.
great video...Question, I have 4 speakers in the boat and I want to mount 2 on my tower and add a sub in the boat. Could you link me to the amp I'd need and also a good sub option. Cheers mate!
Ah ok,looked like raw carpet. And from experience, fiberglass by itself wont hold those screws set with all the vibrations from the speakers and boat riding. Don't take it personal, i ran an install shop, just trying to give advice. I was about your age when i started installing.
Do you have specs and model numbers posted of everything somewhere? Would sure like to duplicate this setup on my Bayliner. Thank you for the video. Very nicely done!
