We go rockhounding at Zinc creek Oregon. It's a great place, beautiful and loaded with stones any rockhound would enjoy. After hounding the surface and digging we had plenty of stones to cut open. Join us and see what's inside!
Rockhounding, prospecting, rock hunting, stone collecting - call it what you will, it all boils down to one thing: getting outside and exploring the great outdoors. And nothing beats rockhounding in the Pacific Northwest, especially in the beautiful state of Oregon. It's a passion of mine to hunt for unique stones and bring them to life through crafting. There's something truly special about uncovering the beauty of newly discovered materials and turning them into works of art, jewelry, and other crafts. From agates to jasper, sagenite to crystals, quartz to opal, and even petrified wood, Oregon offers a wealth of minerals to collect. So, let's get outdoors, hunt some rocks, and create something beautiful together.

The one at 14:00 is my favorite with the smoky marble patterns. The big brecciated piece of jasper at the end that kept breaking has some sweet colors and patterns, too! All excellent finds for sure! I'm lucky to have some material from that location gifted to me by Andrew. The jasper and agatey material there is so beautiful. I loved the into with the drone and all the great footage of the local. I appreciate seeing all of the beauty of the land including the shrooms, orchid, spider and frog. I enjoyed the music also. Really fun seeing you dig up those treasure and poking around that road cut. Excellent video, Quest! Rock on, brother 🤘😁

Thanks man, happy to share with a fellow rockhound. ✌ Zinc Creek is a great spot! I heard there are good sized carnelians somewhere in that area, so the hunt is on! It's a good drive from where I live but it's such a nice place, I always look forward to going back. Catch ya next time. 😁

BTW, at about the 1:10 mark I think I see a Poison Ivy vine/root in your foxhole. Hope you avoided contact dermatitis.

I did not escape the dermatitis! Totally missed the ivy! I've been here before and didn't even think about the new growth. All that ivy grew in one season. Worth it. 🤣

Hey, appreciate your support a whole lot! 😊 Isn't the material at Zinc Creek neat? It's such a beautiful spot and there's so much there waiting to be discovered. I'm excited to head back and explore more. Thanks again!

Awww, poor spidey! That is an egg sac and likely has lots of eggs inside. I rarely dig because I don't like disturbing critters and plant roots, but I'm sure that you filled in the hole. That sure turned out to be some beautiful material tho, and that vug is awesome!

I saved the spider, filled the hole and even took a can someone else left behind. 😁 It's such a beautiful area, I'm happy to keep it that way.

I have driven Zinc Creek but never hunted there. iI's about 30 mi. upstream from me.

It's worth it. Originally, I heard there were big carnelians there, but I have yet to find them. We found so much other stuff that I've been back a few times since.

I must put Zinc Creek on my bucket list. Is Forest Service Road 2980 suitable for a 2WD truck, or am I asking for trouble? The material is gorgeous. Any chance of chasing the buried float to a source with less fractured material?

Where we went you shouldn't have problems with a 2WD truck. I'm planning on going back and camping so I can take a better look around. It's over a 2 hour drive for me to get there so I'm looking forward to staying a couple of days to really explore.

Hey Captain! I'm happy to say I'm still making videos. Glad you got a chance to check things out, this time of year is real pretty with everything in bloom. This stuff has a lot mixed in with it. When I cut it, it's hard like chalcedony. so I think it's some type of Jasper and Agate blend.
