Yeah, being a bass player from that era, he not only has excellent chops, he's got a great sound as well. Sounds like it could be an old Acoustic 361, which was and still is, a lot of bass players choice, especially for live performances.
I hope " The Doobie Brothers" live as long as I do on this planet because I couldn't imagine being on this planet without the Doobie Brothers being around. Such a happy song.
@@johantrenier1685 I'm with everybody !! Simply put, A Great Rock and Roll band !! Fantastic concert/concerts. They have it all. Vocals, rhythm guitar, tasty lead guitar licks, percussion, powerful bass lines, everything!! Was my 2nd concert I ever attended back in (I think) '82. They raised that bar pretty damn high for future shows and few came close. No pyrotechnics, fancy light shows,..... THEY DIDN'T NEED IT ! When you can write music and play like that, that's a wrap baby ! Here's to the Doobies !! PEACE from Philadelphia
The documentary on this band is really fantastic just like the ones on Kansas and the eagles who also started in the 70s now it's time for Kansas to also get inducted into the hof
I'm an old schooler from way back and the Doobies have been a part of my play list the entire time. I can take a dose of Listen To The Music, or The Doctor, or China Grove, just to name a few and turn a bad day into a better one with these guys feel good style of music.
These guys are great! They rank up at the top in rock not like these fake no talent geeks of today. Where's rock n roll bands today! I only like a couple of bands today.
So right! I remember when I was a kid my dad played that album so much, I think my mom was ready to scream, lol. It's a wonder he didn't wear the needle down to a nub.
this song got me a night in jail back when it was a hit on AM RADIO IN MY CUDA 340 doing 98 in a 50 mph causway in nahant mass next morning went with a crew to cleanup the beach then went home to bed ya looking back at it iwas a stupid kid that survived it and live to tell the tail ya it was worth it love that song china grove too
I was a bit annoyed that the video showed most of the musicians, but neglected the bass player. (full disclosure: younger daughter plays electric bass, so I notice bass lines)
