When Tom rejoined the group in 1988 and they had this smash the following year it was like old times again. The good old Doobies of 1973. Times were good.
I love the Michael McDonald stuff ... But Tommy rocks like no one else!... Kudos to both of them for being able to share the stage as front men when they tour together.
Salute to both Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald. Both great eras with the Doobie's. Too bad Van Halen can't have both their lead singers get along this well!!
Two complete different eras of Van Halen. Yes, Tom’s era is definitely different then Michael’s but Tom always liked R & B and other genres outside of Classic rock. However, after seeing that 1981 concert in Santa Barbara, all of McDonald’s songs were definitely classic rock that day.
Ya!! I've listened to music as my Dr. For a long time now... I was a hippie, music always makes me feel better no matter what is going on 👍🏼✌🏼️😊🌺 ** and still think as a hippie☺️
They're back !!!! : i sang when this came out: Music is still the doctor for me and i think for the most of people: Hail the Doobies, take all your vitamines evry day and grow old.
I'm pretty sure most middle aged guitar players out there would love just one jam with these guys before the hands stop workin'.. hell we all grew up playing their tunes :)
DOOBIE BROS...... BRINGS THE CHICKS OUT...................GOD BLESS THE GIRLS....... MUSIC IS THE MEDICINE...IT'S THE CURE FOR ALL THAT'S NOT QUITE RIGHT
This is basically "China Grove, Part 2." And that's perfectly fine, since "China Grove" was too good to be one-and-done. Doobies proved all the naysayers wrong -- they charted a path unique in rock 'n' roll and that's why later generations love their music as much as we did way back when. You can tell a Doobies song moments after hearing a measure of it. Great arrangements and production added to the fine songwriting and musicianship.
St 1:31 ..... Look at the guys dancing! Where are tge women. I love the Doobies. I grew up on thejr music . I bad an 8 track tapd player with speakers on my bedroom and my dad gave me many of his earliest "Collage "tapes. They started on reel to reel and my dad put blackwater on Collage#1. It took four 8 track tapes to get the 7 inch Teac revordings for a full side1 and 2 . We also had A a 10 inch but i forgot the brand . Ill remember later. I used to play yhat tape at night , real low while i slept, shen i first got that old 8 track player. I was beaming ear to ear when walking go s holl in the mornings. I eas only 7 or 8 . I remember the house we lived in the pecan trees in the front snd bsck yard. I used to climb them. Back when my parents would say , In or out. I would say Out! I could go next door and eat pears from the big tree outside my bedroom window and ho around back and eat purple plums that the inside was Deep Blue not yellow! Eat pecans from my yard a d climb the tree in tge fromt yard and ralk to Mr Bushop whilr he tilled ghe frknt garden and tended his flowerd. He has tulips up there! In a city lit on a corner lot next go is. What a time tk be alive 72&73 i eas 7 abd 8. U git on my knees in ggst front yard with a man from a busmistry accepted Jesus , of all things noone se did at my house but Dad said i could do whatever i wanted. I was a pot smoking hiopie by 5th hrade and have remained a Christian. A true Jesus Christian to this day. Didnt like church fokk too much. They were very strange. Not just " straight" but scary hypocrits. The workd has come a long way. The church never got much better. Swaggarts church woukd hace been cool tho.why do they all have ti be Pagans pretending ti be Christians?. I didnt understand thatvuntil recently.Im glad i followed the real Jesus and hope that many others will turn tge corner and cone back my way they never really even believed in the 90s at a couple churches i saw some who really did believe. But coukdnt stick anywhere hecause the administrative prople just seemed so fake.. but misic is my doctor along side of Jesus. And i always sang along to Lisren ti the music and it made me SMILE, REAL BIG. So I know Jesus likes that song i sang it to Him as i walked thru my neighborhood. I was friendly and oioukar but was a loner. Because ibwasnt alone i walked with Jesus. Angie from Ft Worth, Texas born April Fools 1965
I always felt the same way. Tiran was the best. But a few years ago, after our 5th time seeing them in concert (been a fan since 1974), my wife and I met Skylark at the bar and had a great conversation with him. Great guy, my wife fell in love with him. Lol. T Porter still my favorite, but Skylark still was badass.
