Good evening Dennis! I started this video over breakfast and finished over dinner. I enjoyed the drive and looking at the houses. Those automatic shutters look very handy, I'm surprised most houses there don't have them. Glad to see the area fared well with Hurricane Beryl. Hope your friends in the affected areas are doing okay.

Thank you friend. I haven't been over there in a while myself. Glad to see there was no visible damage. Probably looked a little bit different right after tropical storm. Alberto came through. I think we are disaster. Free for the next week at least

@dennis78382 we had something left from good old Beryl come through yesterday. Got an inch of rain , blowing sideways, and got to watch a 40 year old pecan tree dance and think it could do splits in the wind. Luckily only a few small limbs gave out. Have a good day.

@charlynesmith8454 i'm glad you are safe friend. Things can always get worse with those hurricanes. People are saying it was only a category one. I think these are the people that I've never sat through a category one hurricane.

@dei nnis78382 I myself have never experienced a hurricane. But have been affected by tornados they put out. I have many friends along the coast, my heart goes out to all.

Good morning friend. If you take a look on a map, you can see that it's not huge, but it is still a nice feature. I have not seen a large amount of our birds I think between the tropical storm and the hurricane they may have temporarily headed to higher ground. Hope you're having a good day, friend

Hello friend. If anyone has the means, I would definitely recommend them. It really takes a lot of stress out of your life. Also, you can just shut them when you are away and it helps insulate the house.

Dennis just got my electric back on late the afternoon. In my area of Spring, TX we got hit hard but the major news didn't talk about it. But by the Grace of God we weren't the last to get electric back as in Hurricane IKE two weeks. The one thing that saved me was a battery operated fan. Love that thing. Did worry about you and glad you must have done ok. Still have videos to get caught up on. Take care.

Hello friend. My friend Jason posted a video from Spring Texas. I'm glad you got your power back on. I know, hurricane Harvey the news was basically about Rockport and Houston but small towns like Tivoli and Austell. We're devastated and never mentioned. They also didn't get the help that we got here in Rockport. I guess we all live to fight another day. Glad you're safe friend!

Good morning, Dennis! There was a tornado in Jasper that tore up some things, and I believe there was one on the west end of Galveston. 🤷🏻‍♀️Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula got stomped pretty hard. Further up in north east Texas is where all the tornado warnings were occurring, then up through Louisiana and Arkansas. 😢

We certainly do have a lot of RV parks on our peninsula here in Rockport and Fulton. Although many people live in them full-time, we get a lot of vacationers and of course winter Texans. Probably one of them more lucrative industries in our area.

Good morning Juliet. I know they are rather expensive but the convenience of the automatic shutters is excellent. You don't even have to be there to open and close them. You just hit a button on your phone. Pretty convenient.

Good afternoon! Lots of new palms planted there. Yeah, that is the Redfish Lodge location if I remember correctly. For all their claims of returning, they’re not doing much there after 7 years. Every time you say Pat’s Travels, I think of Pat Travers. Boom boom, out go the lights 😂 I would absolutely want those automatic shutters. I can’t imagine standing on a ladder with a sheet of plywood to board up a window while it’s windy. I’d end up somewhere in Sinton with my luck. Nope nope nope. Hope you have a great day today! ❤

The Reserve and Clayton Homes Rockport is going to be huge at 1,200 homes when fully developed. We definitely need more affordable housing in our area; however, our infrastructure isn't up to par as you can see from the newly paved road. Why didn't they make that road wider and with a shoulder when they know a lot of seniors will be in that neighborhood? They simply repaved what was there instead of planning for the growth.

@@dennis78382 in this case since they aren't in the city limits, it would be the county. Maybe the road project had been in the works before the developer submitted plans. Regardless, things changed and the county should have adjusted their plans as well. There are other cascading impacts, e.g., schools, water and wastewater infrastructure. The city seems desperate for new utility customers; however, our supply is limited and our treatment plant is already at capacity. The new growth will mean existing customers will have to pay for a new treatment plant we wouldn't have needed if they didn't approve this development.
