Absolute legend, thanks for the help, tried a bunch of other fixes but they were all "Oh it's your mods and stuff" while I haven't even booted the game for the first time.

was trying to disable all those confusing audio devices in the windows settings, didnt know i had to go through device manager, man you saved me big time!!!

OMG! THAAAANK YOU! I have been trying to find a fix for this off and on for over a year! I also tried all those other fixes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game so many times...geeze. THANK you! I can get back to streaming me failing at guitar!

What a guy. been unable to play for about 2 years. chalked it up to Rocksmith+ coming out. i couldnt have been more wrong. this man couldnt have been more right. i uninstalled the 2 instances of steam audio and im in the game immediately. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU

Thanks for this. You saved me a ton of time doing the same things. I just tried removing the two Steam sound entries in the device manager and that fixed it. I left the NVIDIA sound entries.

It was voice meter for me. Same place you found the steam stuff but that didn't fix it for me. When I removed voice meter it started working. ty

Wow it worked. You don't have to delete the drivers, can disable and it will work still. Disabled 2 nvidia drivers and steam streaming drivers.

these drivers specifically didnt work but i had over 20 and after uninstalling most of the ones i dont need rocksmith started working, thanks for the tip!

Updated my onboard drivers 3 days ago. Starting Rocksmith today for the first time since 5 days. Had exactly this problem and it would have never crossed my mind to uninstall NVIDIA drivers. Not all heros wear capes

Just to add to this fix. Came here as I forgot the very simple step I need to do to stop it crashing on start. First, as someone else commented, you can just disable the pesky extra audio devices. They'll likely just end up back with some software update anyway. Anyone crashing with a USB mic plugged in (might just be my Elgato Wave3, but just incase it isn't exclusive to that), unplug the mic before launching and plug it back in when the game is fully launched.

If the issue is still happening for anyone see if you have Nahimic surround virtual audio devices installed, removing them seems to have worked for me

I just bought the game and it wont load up. goves me the product key to copy then i hit play and nothing happens. I have an amd card not nvidia so im not sure which sound devices i can uninstall. i have tried all the other fixes but nothing working.

I downloaded the full game four times and it won't launch I'm going to try this now, the torrent so I don't know if they're legal but I know that they worked on my Windows 7 laptop now with Windows 11 it's not working so I downgraded to Windows 10 and it's still not working so I'll let you know how it goes hopefully does the trick

AMD peeps this works too, you can delete any AMD stuff and it just worked

Mine was the Nvidia virtual audio device (wave extensible) (WDM)

First it said I was missing a mvsp100 something so I got that ....then it said I'm missing another. dll file so I got that. . . and now it just says can't launch period lol

had the same problem... fixed the launch problem.. now its crashing back to steam at the stupid uplay login

So I have a different issue that I can’t find anyone talk about I think it’s related to the game not fully loading, but idk my notes don’t appear like there invisible but master mode is off. Along with my background is just a black screen on the game no white garage or on the songs no audience. When I run this same account on my old desktop it work but when I tried on my gaming laptop it doesn’t.

This did not work for me. I feel like I've tried just about everything. Any other suggestions?

Nope didn't work: Had this problem for months, I ended up dual booting with a version of Windows 10 especially designated for Rock Smith 2014, and mirror backed up just in case it happens their too because I have had it happen in Windows 10, it's just a shame that I have to expend so many gigabytes of storage space for just 1 piece of software, ridiculous

I appreciate the tutorial, but this still did not fix it for me :( uninstalled the Steam mic/speakers as well as all the NVIDIA high def audio stuff
