Imagine Googling "Does an Audio Interface work with Rocksmith?" and then finding out Rocksmith+ exists and there's a video out TODAY that explains how it works with an AI. Thanks!
@@SodiPopMedia I've since got it but the limited song selection, poor tabulation and bad live versions of albums is dreadful. I hope I'm missing something.
@@cheweycracker yikes! I’ve been hearing similar stories from looking around the internet. I still have RS 2014 remastered on PC, so maybe I’ll just try and do the manual audio interface add to that. Hopefully they can improve the plus version a lot.
@@SodiPopMedia tbh, this is what I'm looking at doing now. With such a limited choice on Rockstar+ I'm wondering what it's going to do in the future to compete with the 2014 version.
I'm plugging my guitar straight into the microphone jack on the front of my computer. Just a straight audio cable, 1/4" jack on the guitar end, 1/8" on the computer end (bought for $6 on Amazon). And it works. It was kind of noisy and I adjusted the microphone settings in control panel from 20db gain down to 10db. Sounds great now and seems to detect my playing without a problem. The audio on my computer is just the standard integrated Realtek garbage you find on every motherboard.
Playing through my focusrite 18i8. Absolutely flawless performance. Barely any lag. I always hated the need for a proprietary cable. I’m really happy with this technological advancement!
Did you have to adjust any settings to get it to connect? I’ve got a Scarlett 2i2 and it shows up as an option in RS+ but I am just getting “connection error” over and over regardless of what I try.
My spider V 20 worked as an alternate interface in 2014 as it showed up as a "Mic" when connected through its microusb cable. I will admit though..depending on what tone I was using, note detection suffered...and I love distortion.
video on the fly..lol. at least you cut to the chase once you were done...I actually enjoyed this video from you. I had invested a lot of money for Rocksmith 2014 DLC and can't find much on how the RockSmith Plus will affect my investment...will it all be obsolete and unavailable or will Plus continue it. I'm in Japan and they will be releasing it on June 6th, so I'm limited in what is out there right now. Thanks for your video(s).
Was so hyped for this but seeing mixed reactions. I was going to do the 12 months +3 months free but I couldn't get my payment to go through for some reason but it ended up being a good thing. I will do more research before taking the plunge.
I wanted to like this so much, I've been a big supporter of Rocksmith for years. Then involved in the beta test last year - which was underwhelming to say the least The final result doesn't improve much on the beta, because the content literally stinks. So many glaring omissions of content, no floyd, no zeppelin, no queen, no def leppard, no beatles, no stones, no kiss.... and on and on. That I could forgive if it wasn't for 'ARCHI'. This is the machine learning algorhythm that pretty much everything I wanted to play used to track the songs. For guitar that means, it works out the chords - no lead. For bass it means - root note bass, what a crock. The songs tracked by actual people were as good as ever, but there are so many that aren't tracked properly. No custom songs outside the license, no offline playing and to add insult to injury, they ask the community to add 'arrangements' for the licensed songs - presumably to cover up for the dreadful machine tracking. I deleted it after an hour, thankfully I got 1 month free by owning Rocksmith 2014. Back to that and CDLC for the foreseeable future. Audio interface works fine though... lol end of rant.
Working on subscribing to RS+ (but keep having issues). Once I do get in on it, I hope to have as much fun as prior eds. What I do wish for, to start with, is an offline mode that would allow a user to DL, say, an album's worth of songs and practice/play without an internet connection. I drive a truck for a living and I can't always get an internet connection and I don't want to chew up my mobile hotspot if I can avoid it. Also, I hope they get the tablet version out soon; every iPad and most androids tablets from the last few years can hook to a class-compliant interface, so playing on the go would be awesome.
Hopefully it works with my Pod Go, my realtone cable finally died the other day, I've just been playing through my pod go in disconnected mode on 2014, if this works I won't have to buy another cable
I had Rocksmith 2014 configured, so that my Line 6 Helix was the audio interface. Then I could hear my helix tones instead the RS Tones. BUT! Only worked with Audio exclusivity ON --> I never could record Rocksmith sound + Helix sound via OBS. Never got it running. As soon as I deactivated audio exclusivity it didn't work. I hope Rocksmith + will work so.
Low chance you'll see this, but is there a chance you can make a video on how to record with OBS? My focusrite Clarett+ 8pre is working PERFECT on the game. The audio exclusivity is disabled so there's no reason I can see that would be blocking it. I figured it would be as easy as just setting the output of my focusrite as the audio on OBS but it's just not doing it
Interface "Connection Time out" message. Using PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 and have downloaded the drivers. Says its supported on RS website. I do get audio, from my guitar as well as audio from RS, through headphones connected to interface. But when starting the program and trying to connect it always fails. Sad I was really looking forward to trying this out and had an interface laying around new in the box. Appreciate the great videos!
Ubisoft store won't let me subscribe to Rocksmith+.. I've tried 5 times and after I put payment info in it just tells me my carts empty and they can't deliver to a PO box but I don't enter Po box... stupid problem to have
Awesome, been looking forward to seeing this release. It's such a novel concept for learning songs. It'll be cool to see the improvements that have been made.
@@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALIS There are good things with it being a subscription, I bought most DLCs when I was playing on my PS4 (And I had the Original ps3 rocksmith, and the original RockSmith song pack into the 2014)... It cost me A LOT of money, having every single song already unlocked is such a good thing. You'll end up playing songs and genres you would never buy the pack for RockSmith 2014. So in my opinion, I liked it and didn't think the yearly subscription was too expensive
@@MarwinEwert that's great for you, it's not for me, well outside of my budget. Not to mention that I am opposed to a subscription model for software regardless, if I don't own it, I don't want it. I don't even go in for software you have to buy licenses for, it's anti consumer vitriol and I will avoid it wherever I can. Hope you have fun with it though dude!
when i play i hear what's being played and there's no delay but there's a bad crackling sound. i tried to bypass this but running a plugin and turning the guitar sound down on the game and it seems like this problem completely throws everything off. rocksmith says my guitar isnt tuned to pitch when its clearly in tune. doesnt even pick up notes properly when i play at all
I'll have to test my Line6 Pod XT later to see if it works. I'm liking Rocksmith+ so far, of course I hope there will be a lot more exciting songs in time, I hope at least most songs from RS2014 won't take too long to get in Rocksmith+. But I'm enjoying it so far and discovering some interesting songs to play.
i have a scarlett audio interface and its showing up as a mic in the game? i also have my mic connected to it but whenever i use my guitar on ableton it works fine. on here it like..wont connect. i dont get it. any advice??
This is my issue, and it makes it impossible for me to use an interface rather than the True Tone Cable unless I were to physically re-route my entire audio setup every time I run Rocksmith+. Makes no sense.
I have a focusrite scarlet solo 3. Rocksmith+ does not like it. It's either guitar audio and no desktop audio or desktop audio and no guitar audio ( rocksmith defaults to xlr mic channel and for some reason it can't be changed when using the line in audio device.)
@@Chainbrain i think i would have to edit the driver system files to do this. The focusrite controlpanel for the Scarlett solo is really barebones. I can change from instrument mode to Line mode but I can't do anything with the channels. Might be a solution I'm not seeing, but for now I play RS2014.
I spent 5 hours overnight trying to get RS+ to process payment on 4 different payment methods that all have funds -- it worked briefly when I tried paying the first time and then it told me my payment method had failed every time thereafter. Had to wave the white flag after all those hours and reach out to their support team. I hope they can manually process the payment somehow. I was super bummed after all this waiting that I wasn't playing with it immediately upon release! 😭😭😭 Hopefully it's not a widespread payment processing issue. I haven't seen any other similar complaints, so it may have just been me. 🤷🏼♀️
@@Chainbrain They must have either done it ended up processing around 3 PM yesterday. I think that support ended up processing it manually as I requested -- or maybe the issue was fixed. All I know is that I got an emailed receipt. I'm gonna try it in a few mins. Didn't feel well last night. Can't wait to see what it's like after all this waiting for like two years. I understand many people are saying the 2014 version is better. I never played the prior versions, so I can only compare to Yousician and the Gibson/Zoundio gamification experiences. I have a feeling RS+ is a very different beast! That would also be an interesting video to make -- a comparison with the other major gamified guitar lesson players out there.
@Giovanni Moreno, thanks for trying to help! I had tried another browser before giving up after they launched it. Thankfully, it seems the payment finally went through at 3 PM yesterday. I'm about to give it a try!
Having a ton of trouble with a focusrite solo. No audio in game, and it keeps constantly changing the sample rate to 96khz when rocksmith is open?? I get a popup from focusrite every 2 seconds.
I don't have a Line option on my Quad Cortex? There's also no way to change buffer size from 512, when using USB, so there's huge latency for me. Unplayable.
Took a couple of attempts to get the right drivers and realise I needed to set windows input device myself but Presonus studio26 is up and running. Note detection appears good, just my playing is rusty lol
mine does not work, i get a lot hissing and when i switch to asio i cannot switch to my audio device in asiso settings as it crashes rocksmith plus - still not working its crap
I have a question. Im using a Presonus Audio Box and Rocksmith + picks it up as a interface and works great ( but it will not work as a USB Cable just the top interface selection) but i can not for the life of me get OBS to see the Audio to record it, i have chosen Audio Input at Line3 Audio Box Speaker but never reads Rocksmith + Audio
I tried the free demo of RS+ with my Scarlett 2i2 4th gen and the latency was BAD, there was no option to change it from it WASAPI to ASIO, it was greyed out, I tried it with audio buffer on the lowest and with audio exclusivity enabled and the latency was still unplayable. Idk how to fix it, there is nothing on google for RS+ I think I'm gonna have to find an old bootleg version of RS2014 and mod it. RS+ sucks.
I thought they were gonna go the route of making it easy to note track mp3s that you already own to avoid copyright infringements. Instead they'd rather have us pay a subscription for an overwhelming amount of flavor of the month indie shit.
@@Chainbrain I'll try tomorrow and let you know. Watched your other video and agree that the transparent walls being gone and replaced with lines is a bit sad.
Does this help with audio delay? That people on Xbox received? Just brought rocksmith game and I’ve got information overload with how to correct the problem 😂
So is Rocksmith basically also an ampsim ?! Is there an option to mute the instrument sound within Rocksmith so I can use whatever ampsim I have running in the back for tone ?
When You playing on your guitar thru the Quad Cortex ( line or Neural DSP USB Audio Device) do You feel any latency? I'm asking becouse latency was always the bigest problem of rocksmith.
I'm running an audio cable straight from my guitar to the microphone jack on the front of my PC. Works just fine, nothing special, just the cheap default audio that you find on any motherboard. In theory you could use an acoustic guitar and a microphone, but I can't really say how well that would work.
@@Chainbrain Thanks for the reply! It’s not universally true though. I use two interfaces simultaneously into a DAW running a bunch of channels/busses stacked with plug-ins and routed to three different output channels, and my RTL is so imperceptible that I can-and do-stream using this setup (which is also running the streaming/recording software and capturing two video inputs) and monitor the output in real time. When it comes to Rocksmith+, all I’d like to be able to do is simply use my computer’s headphone output.
maqn i honestly cant figure out why its not working for the life of me i just got rocksmith plus and bro using my interface it literally sounds like i have a ring modulator effect running when its supposed to be a clean sound"? shit is maddening and i cant find a definitve thjing anywhere on how to set it up correctly (scarlett 2 focusrirte)
Dealing with the same issue here! Got the latency dialed in, but it still having the ring modulator effect even when I change tone. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?
@@quasimodoshunchback I just found a fix! I had to change my audio quality settings in my computer’s sounds settings from 41k to 48k. Not sure if you’d still try after a year, but I’d give that a go if you haven’t & would still want to give it a shot!
@@quasimodoshunchback Were you running your focusrite through ASIO? I’m running my M Audio Air interface through ASIO & upping the sound quality fixed the issue. Hopefully even if you don’t have ASIO, updating the sound quality to 48k will still fix the issue for ya!
IMHO so far not. Basically its Rocksmith2014 with RS_ASIO and a really bad song library. I will wait, but i rather think i move on and start using GuitarPro more
SAdly with Rocksmith+ the multiplayer is missing and although there is a lot of music I couldn't find any songs I wanted to play. My son and I have been playing the original Rocksmith since it first came out without any issues. Without multiplayer and good music it is useless. Without access to the songs that are in Rocksmith 2014 it is even more useless.
I've only ever had this game on Xbox just using a RTC and HDMI for audio and video, obviously meaning I get the horrible audio lag making it impossible to play faster songs. I'm going to get RS+ on PC, is the lag minimised from switching platforms and how does Chain Brain minimise the lag?
@@Chainbrain I mean sorry to be rude I just bought this box today and I plugged it in to my pc and the aux from the box to my gutair. And I get nothing. I'd appreciate any insite you have on this problem man
@@Chainbrain I mean in general. The frets positions, the color. I need to remark that when I say crazy weird is in a good way. Synonym of unique. I am wondering if the inclination of the frets can actually have any impact in the intonation. I am new playing guitar. I apologize for my ignorance.
All this and you cant turn off the stupid custom tones the game forces on you that sound like total ass. As someone who plays on bass, i played the 10 challenging jazz songs and i feel like im out of content already lol. Not worth the 15 a month.
